Well, I got a 1990 GMC Sierra 2500 thats a regular cab. 2 doors. No back seat. Nothing. Well, now I'm looking for a way to carry my bows. My Savannah is too long for a tool box or a gun rack in my truck. Looked at one of the 3 Rivers airline approved case thingy's but the 69 in one that would fit it, I think will be too long. What way's do you guys carry your bows around? Will just throwin it in a sock or a Kathy Kelly unstrung case and leaning it on the seat work? I worry because I heard that putting a bow on it's lower limb for a period of time can damage it. Chances are it would only be that way for a couple hours but it could be as long as a week. Lookin for ideas here...
PVC pipe with a foam plug at the bottom and your sock.
Do a search there have been a few how to on building a pvc carrying case and also for rigging out your truck. Mysticguido did one a while back.

I'll have to find and repost pix, But it's easy to make one. I used a 4" round with a cap on one end and a screw end on the other end. I also used sponge for washing horses, Cut one of them in half. Glue in to cap and glue cap to PVC.
Cut PVC pipe to 2" longer then bow. When the threaded cap is placed on PVC ( Don't glue it yet test for fit )Glue the other half of sponge to inside the threaded cap and trim so you can screw it in. Once you get everything ti fit right Glue threaded end to PVC and Your done. Use 2 pipe hangers to mount to inside bed of truck..
I Used a 4" piece for a Long Bow 72" end to end Bow has about 2" follow on both ends.
I agree Mysticguido I built one just like that for my freinds longbow and put foam in each end then put the longbow in a sock. The bow is very cozy and secure in there and if it falls out of the bed of your truck and gets run over it will probably still be OK!. Wish recurves were that easy to take care of.
I haul my longbows that way, just put them in the truck or in a case and lean them up in the cab. Been doing it for years and have had no problem. If worse came to worse you can buy another bow alot cheaper than another truck.
