Title: 5 year old Kids archery sets less than $60
Post by: Zradix on March 26, 2010, 12:33:00 PM
I'd like to get an inexpensive archery set for my 5yr old son. I can't swing something like a Maddog..I wish I could. Do any of you have recommendations on something like this?
Thank you!!!

The bow with shipping was just over $50.

I have been a very bad dad and not let my son shoot enough.

you can make a very serviceable board bow for that age of kid with few tools and a little time. Pretty fun and they can sand on it etc. Makes a cool project for a first bow and it'll get an arrow to the target enough to get the hand of it.

I picked up a Bear kid bow set (fiberglass) on sale at the local Cabelas for around $25.  I thought I would try that out before I dropped a hundred bucks for a maddog. It's not even a quarter of the bow as a maddog, but I thought, I'm only out $25 if my daughter doesn't like archery. So far it's going good, she will shoot for 5 or 10 minutes and then gets tired of it but at least its a start. Good luck with your search,
