Just watched BOW I & II for the first time in 20 years. Last time I saw them, I was in Hunter Education in high School. They were as exciting and informative as I remember. Thank you Mr. Wensel and Mr. Blase for many years of fun and education. Can't wait to see Primal Dreams.(I know I'm a little behind).

The absolute BEST ever! I can't even imagine how many times I have watched these over the years. Now that I have them in DVD it is even better.
The first time I watched them I rented them at the video store in Beta!
Thanks guys!!
My favorite part is when Barry explains why he wears his hat "This Way" and dives into a half watermelon!
... mike ...
The first time I watched Bowhunting October Whitetails I rented it on VHS in 1988 I think...
This was ground breaking stuff in the middle 80's.
I agree I dig them out at least once a quarter.
I bought the original vids in VHS when they first came out, they were starting to wear out pretty good, so I bought the DVDs a couple of years ago. They are great.
Where can i buy them on DVD.
Try the nocking point
Anybody got a copy of Primal Dreams they would loan out? I'm good for it!
Get them from Gene and Barry @ Brothers of the bow.com
Bowhunting October Whitetails I & II, and Primal Dreams are must haves to anybody who really enjoys hunting videos. You won't regret it!
Two Arrows is correct those are must haves.. I will add Bowhunting Reflections (Cascade Archery-Steve Gorr) to the MUST have list...

I think I'll add them to my Christmas list.
Classics, classics
I still think those are the best hunting videos ever made. I love 'em.
Definitely classic. As are most Stoney Wolf productions. Used to have most on VHS. Now I'm picking up what I can find on DVD.
Picked one up at the PBS shindig and now I see what all the fuss is about.
It did destroy the myth about Uncle B never missing, though.
First time I saw their videos and also those of The 8th Dwarf (Paul)....was using the PBS video and book sharing program they had back in early 90s. I have them on DVD now and love them.
keep em sharp,
ron herman
Why wasnt Gene in the movie is what i always wonderd
Thanks for all the nice comments on the old videos. I have to admit they were way ahead of their time when you realize they were produced in the early/mid 1980's. I think the reason they were so well received was the fact they were real and true. If we missed.. we missed and if we got 'em.. we got 'em. People could relate to the fact we are just like everyone else out there. Video experts can do things in the editing room to make it look like we never miss.. trust me... we missed a lot! I think we all have likely pulled off some memorable bowhunting shots in our lives. I just happened to have a camera behind me when I did it. Regarding why Gene wasn't in those early productions, he had just written his first couple books and had freely stated "There's a lot of advantages to being selfish". Ha. Basically what he was saying was he didn't want to give up his hunting solitude by having a film crew filming over his shoulder. Frankly, now I know how he felt. That's basically why we don't film each other. We film ourselves so if anyone screws up it's our own fault. When filming oneself if we get the footage... great. If we don't get the footage.. so sorry. Our primary goal is to hunt and make memories, whereas getting it on film is secondary. Anyway, thanks again for the nice positive feedback. Best of luck to all. BW
I got BOW I & II and Primal Dreams on my Fathers Day list. Thanks again guys.
I had the DVD and lost it in a move a few years ago. A lot of good info on there and the shot on the running deer is timeless.
Classics I never get tired of watching them!! :smileystooges:
For the last several years some time around the first day the temp hits 100 here in North TX I watch October Whitetails I and II. Those videos help get me through the long hot TX summer by thinking about those great October days ahead. I watch Primal Dreams year round, it is one of the best videos I've ever seen, and think I'll watch a little of it tonight. :clapper:

It`s difficult to believe it was nearly 25 years ago when I first saw it.
