OO I bet yours was fun to cape out terry :notworthy:
Curt I didnt know about all of your hidden tallents. Only been part of this group for a couple months now, and I have seen that you are a heck of a turkey hunter, along with a bit of a craftsman(wingbone striker), not to mention a outstanding taxidermist! :scared: What else are ya good at!!! From a young fella that is trying to learn to mount, I solute you! :notworthy: :clapper:
Wow, great work!
very life like, I think one of those deer winked at me ... great work Curt
Hmm cool Terry. Never had that opportunity. usually they would be frozen to the carcass so we have always had to get the hide off asap.
Nice mounts and nice hunt...congrats.
Jer
Curt, Outstanding work....

Curt, My friend, you are very talented. Gonna have to have you do one for me if I am ever fortuneate enough to take one like those two.
Danny
 :clapper: attention to detail around the eyes is exceptional.
Congrats to you both. Very cool to see them on the forms and as a work in progress.
Look out though! Better close that garage door cause that one is getting ready to make a break for it!
It said plenty but outstanding work Curt! Kinda cool how those two have stayed together through the journey...
Awsome job sir! :notworthy: Man I'm looking forward to Salona thanks for keeping me inspired.
Congrats to both of you. Nice job on those heads Curt.
Curts the best :clapper: :clapper: :goldtooth: Nice job as always buddy.
Tracy
Thanks guys, as someone said about "going thru the whole journey together"...that was the plan. I asked Terry if he'd let me mount his so they would be re-created at the same time.
We wanted pix of then both alive and mounted "together"....Just wish Don had decided to mount his buck...then there would have been three...
To answer a couple questions....
Dirtybird- believe it or not, I've never mounted one of my own turkeys.
Izzy- The form is just as ordered, just a neat pose.
Danny Rowen- You bet bud!
My buck had as many, or more scars on his cape as ever seen on a buck. His nose pad was even deformed a bit from a scar... and in the earlier pix you can see his shoulder area is tore right up. So many others are somewhat hidden by hair...he was a battler no doubt!
But check out the damage to his rack...
A big "chunk" out of his non-typical side, I often wonder what that could have been...

His "normal" side, brow tine...

The deer is so full of character, and so cool!
Great Post Guru & A-1 Taxi work.
Yeah...really special....that ones going on the left of my other Solana 10 mounted the exact reverse....so I'll have Solana 10 point Book Ends. :)
Awesome job Curt, I know whose gonna do my next mount :bigsmyl:
It's amazing the amount of cactus thorns Terry's buck had in his hide!
I mean all bucks I've ever done from TX have thorns embedded in their skins. Probably 90% of them you don't see till you see the inside of the skin. Mine had what I would call a "normal amount", a lot.
But Terry's buck must have had an affinity for the prickly pears, I mean just loaded, inside and out! Like twice as many as I've ever seen!
As a matter fact, several on the hair side made it thru the tanning and mounting process and will be in the finished product....pretty cool!
Impressive Curt, PM sent...
Just an all around cool story with those two bucks! Great looking mounts Curt!
Great job
