It's a great watch!
Awesome footage. Never have seen or heard of this before. To see them struggle just to pick his head up is something else to see. Really get a sense for how big an animal a Polar Bear is.
Thanks for sharing.
Great video. Thank Ben for the link.
What a hunt those huge bears would be...!
Wow! That was cool(maybe even cold)..lol Thanks for sharing.
God bless,Mudd
Is that Larry D. Jones from Oregon ?
WOW great footage - huge bear.
Jer Bear
Giant bear. Loved watching him cruising across the snow and Jones making the shot!

Glenn
Gotta love that!
Great video, brings back memories of the old Kwikee Kwiver "suicide quiver" for us that remember them.
That video was fantastic, that ladies and gentleman is an archer
...and what a perfect shot! The only animal that will routinely hunt you!
Awesome how anyone can shoot that well with that much clothes on! Would love to know his setup specs., shot distance, etc. Giant Bear!! Thanks Ben!
"Is that Larry D. Jones from Oregon ?" No.
This is THE original Larry Jones from Utah.
that is absolutly awsome thanks , for the link it makes me smile.
Wow!! Great video!! I'll bet that would be one awesome hunting experience! Thanks for sharing.
Wowsers! That's really incredible!
I like how the "avid hunter" comments on it without understanding it was 45 years ago, before the population problem. What a tool.
:archer:
That video was  . Thanks...
very cool!!!!
Larry Jones, not Larry D. Jones of Bowhunter Magazine and TV "fame" was the guest speaker at the Friday night PBS Banquet Dinner in Salt Lake City (2006). He told of his many hunts in Alaska in the bowhunting pioneer days. He showed a lot of video. I believe he was one of the first to do movies of his adventures. I know he was a super guy who brought a tear to the eye of many there with his love of bowhunting. I won his video in one of the raffles and for the life of me cannot find it :banghead:
That is was really great. That career has spanned a long time!!
He made a great shot on a tremendous animal. That would be a little spooky being 20 yards from a bear who likes to eat meat!
Why is it that when ever there is good archery footage there always has to be such crap music thrown over it. Suppose anyone would notice if I lugged a ghetto blaster into the woods with me next deer season. Same reason I cannot stand outdoor programming on TV, what is wrong with the sound of nature. Great film ruined by knuckle heads and their knuckle head music once again.
That must be the same guy that shot a bighorn ram in Alberta about the same time, way before anybody else bowhunted them here with much success, pretty neat.
Terry
Awesome footage. I have read little bits about him, but never have seen this before. The guy had a pretty long draw - eh?
Yellow Dog - yeh your right, made me think of the good old Kwikee Kwiver days. Made me look at my old back of the leg scars again just to reminise.
Hey - did you happen to notice he is LEFT-HANDED ? Just like me, except well, you will probably never see a film like this of me .......
Chinook
That was an awesome video and a huge bear!
Awesome footage! thanks for sharing the link.
VERY COOL!
chris <><
really cool. I too though have no appreciation for the music.
THAT ANIMAL WOULD CAUSE ME SOME STAINS! :scared:
(of the shorts variety)
I just can't believe how huge that bear was. Even pumped with adrenaline Larry couldn't lift it's head. I-N-S-A-N-E. Period.
Cool video, Ben! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Cool footage
Wow what and adventure.
that was pretty cool......
Im glad I got to see that thanks!
Yea the part where Larry couldnt even lift the bears head was just unbelievable.
I thought the music was much better than the rappin' "music" I heard on a bowhunting show yesterday while flipping past it. I stopped for a moment in amazement.
nice video...thanks for sharing
Those are amazing animals. Great footage too.
That was really cool. Looked like a perfect shot!
Very cool, thanks for sharing
Great video. I was hoping to hear a little 1960's style narration rather than that noise.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Wow...unbelievable, great video. Yellowdog, I sure remember the suicide quiver!
Wow, now that's bad A$$. Thanks for putting it up Ben.
