I've got an identical (specs) bow coming from my preferred bowyer.........."soon". My turkey season starts April (10th?). I've promised a friend I would send him my current bow to shoot for a while (he's interested in possibly ordering one).
2 bows - same bowyer - same specs. Is there any chance they're not gonna like the exact same arrow? Seems like a dumb question, but that's never stopped me from asking....lol.
I have a fresh, uncut, dozen arrows "just in case". But, I'm hoping not to have to break them out.
Never been in this position. Likely never will be, again (I think I've purchased my last bow).
Thanks.
I have four bows 57@28. Two are Pronghorn longbows one a Pronghorn Ferret recurve and one Palmer recurve. I can shoot the same arrow out of all of them with good bare shaft results. I think that you should be ok.

BS :saywhat:
I second Terry,LOL
What Terry says ! LOL.
I would let the friend shoot the new bow and stay with my trusty one for the hunt. BH, silencers etc all are fine tuned already
Just a thought

LOL...Terry...(others).
I've been shooting this same bow for a year, now (almost). I honestly don't even look at other bows anymore. I'm that satisfied (and it's why I ordered the one I did).
Hey T....I'm 45. I'm willing to make a 15yr bet with ya!...lol
$100 if I switch in 15yrs. Proceeds to the kids!
(ALL in fun, guys....thanks for your responses)
Yep as all have said, my bows are all in a 4 lb range and I shoot the same arrow out of all.

Edited, jhg. No worries.
I'm with Terry on this one. I'll take the $100 bet, but since I am 57, don't count on collecting any money 15 years from now unless you can find me while I am still alive in some nursing home. :biglaugh:
So what is this amazing bow, anyway? I am sure the new one will shoot the same arrows as your current bow.
Allan
3 different bows, all within 2#, same (carbon) shaft, no worries.
This will be what the new one looks like (with elk antler tips).
My current bow has the exact same specs.....just different woods (veneers).

FIFTEEN YEARS???
Easy Money...I'll take it....uh, the kids will take it. :readit:
ONLY reason I made the bet, Terry....is I won't be able to AFFORD to order another bow for 15yrs!....lol
"Cant afford one"... :help:
Is the new one there yet?? Lol!! ;) :D
Oh, so that is the bow that used the last of the Schafer green camo along with the bow built for Kevin Osworth!! Lucky guy! That will be a neat bow, for sure.
Allan
I have two bows of the same model same weight and was able to shoot the same arrow. On the other hand variables in slight design changes between the two could cause suttle arrow flight differences

LOL!!!!!
I have 3 ACS CX all 50# and all shoot the same arrow.
I could take that bet and win. Unless of course one of my two Robertsons breaks or I lose another bow, which I don't think will happen. Although it does seem like it is taking 15 years for my new myrtle on myrtle Robertson longbow to get here. I have no patience, the last bow I refinished I touched once every 15 minutes to see if the finish was dry. Those 8 finger prints are a constant reminder of that even today. I am hoping that the two Robertsons one left hand and the other right will shoot the same spine arrow myself.
No reason at all you can't tune both bows to shoot the same arrows if you want to.
I shoot the same hunting arrow from a selfbow,bamboo/osage and a Hoyt Gamemaster.I tuned them to the arrow so I would not have to carry a bunch of different arrows during hunting season. There is over 30fps difference in the speeds of the bows but all 3 shoot the arrow perfect.
I'm laughing at this too.... I'm retired and have to watch the $$$ pretty carefully also...but could never say, let alone make a bet, that I'd never buy another bow :wavey:

I second that.
To answer you original question, I had identical spec Firefly's and they both shot the same arrow perfectly.
I bought my last bow, several bows ago!
GMMAT, I can't say how it will work with your TIP, but mine I shoot Grizzlystick Alaskans I have two sets of limbs, one at 55# the other at 62#. All I have to do is change tips weight from 55#@200 field point weight and 125G for the 62# limbs. This works great for my setup Good luck.
T,A
Gene-What is the secret for hiding the bow from my wife? My wife shoots with me and knows every bow that I have and I am really thinking about a Dwyer Endeavour Bow. I guess I'll have to sell one of my other 17 bows to justify it. Unless you come up with a good story for my wife.
I have three GN's all within 3lbs of each other that shoot the same spine arrow.
Hey Terry have you decided what your going to spend that money on yet?
I wish I had a dollar for every time I said "This is my last bow".
