Need to get Silencers. Looking at getting either bow hush or hush puppy's. Which one should I get or both?
Longbow or Recurve?
Recurve.
If you wanted as quiet as you can get it...order both. BowHush addresses string limb slap on recurves, and the Hush Puppies silence the strings harmonics on any bow..
Thanks Terry I'll get them ordered.
And they both work very well!
its all i use anymore.great product!
Friend had the Hush Puppy's and love them. Thought I'd do the same.
I agree. I use them on my recurves and wouldn't hunt without them
On a recurve, you won't find anything quieter than the Bow Hush/Puppy combo!
The hush puppies are surely a great product. I need to order the bow hush and see how that works.
I still am using moleskin on the upper limbs. Pretty much behind the curve...

I got my hush puppies last week. I put them on my Widow and all I hear is the arrow hitting the target.......Mike
Never leave home without em!!! Have been using them for a few years and all the bows I build come equipt with Hush Puppies..........Chort
hush puppies - that new zealand wool is just awesome, nothing like it.
I've got some on order now, can't wait to try them.
Great products that work.
Just got mine in the mail. I got the "bow hush" wrapped onto the ends of the strings by the loops, but the directions for the "hush puppies" are not clear to me. It sounds like I'm supposed to untwist my bowstring for the entire 2.5" or so sections where the hush puppies go, then insert them between the bundles & re-twist the string. Won't this cause a Flemish 2-bundle string to cable? Am I missing something? I couldn't find an e-mail address or phone number for the manufacturer on his website.
Fishers,
Just hold the string a few an inch or so above and below where you'll insert the hush puppies and counter twist. The "hole" will become apparent, just shove the pups through and the string will hold them in place when the tension is returned.

i agree on the quality of this product. similar note - there was a promotion several weeks ago about sending in a picture of a your harvest to get a free set. I never recieved mine - what did i do wrong - anyone else????
best regards

NorthernCaliforniaHunter, I took your advice & it worked; thanks! My only concern is that the directions say to separate the bowstring's plies equally, but I have a 3-bundle string & didn't want to separate a bundle, so I have 2 bundles on one side of the silencer & one on the other. I'll let it "set" overnight per the instructions, then give it a try tomorrow. They look really good & I suspect that with the twists & tension they'll be fine.
Matt...someone just alerted this to me.....not sure how I missed it.
I don't recall recieving a pic from you...I have all the last ones I recieved in my file to be uploaded...but none from you.
Email me the pic and an address....

I agree great product. I use them on almost every bow I have.
I shoot longbows and the hush puppies work the best of everything that I've tried.
