dont get excited,no pics, because success doesnt always mean a kill.....
my dad, brother and I were stumping on our deer club lands, wich are polluted with turks, and i see a huge qwl get up off a kill. I started to go to see what he klilled, because he left it, and 200 yards in a field in front of the cutover are a flocks of turkeys. about 30 birds.
WE all drop to the ground, and i decided to try and stalk them. I left my bow, and belly crawled trhough cane and high grass and blackberries for about 150 yards, and peeked up cautiosly to check and see if they were still there. the fully albino hen was all i could see through the grass, and so i mouth called, getting an answering tom about 60 tards away.
I now were ill be hunting this april.....

Might want to check your hunting regs. It's illegal in Pa. to stalk turkeys.

Sounds like they are ready now. Too bad you gotta wait til April. Our season opened this weekend, and birds are still in winter flocks for the most part. It felt like winter all weekend as well. High around 50, rainy, and just down right dreary. We did manage to get a bird to strut our way. My brother dumped him. Nice 2 yr old with 10 inch beard. I wish I would have had my curve. We got in front of the birds as they were coming straight down the road. I would have had time to set up a blind decoys and everything. Lesson learned. Good luck in April.

mjb, ill do it, but I dont plan on trying to stalk and kill a tom. as far as I know, 50 yards is as close as you can get walk and stalk.
also there is a gray phase hen in the same flock, and the albino is not an escaped domestic.
wish she had a beard.....
:D
