Title: KME Sharpener Combo...
Post by: dave19113 on March 13, 2010, 06:57:00 AM
I have given up on trying to get my broadheads scary sharp w/o using an aid. From what I have read the KME sharpener is te way to go... And from what I have seen from the youtube vid it seems like a no brainer.....

Here is my question, Kustom King sells the KME but they also have a kit that includes a 2 sided stone and oil:

Is the kit worth it? And what is the grade of the stone?... IE med, fine?....?

What brand of heads do you shoot?  That stone is coarse on one side and fine on the opposite.

I just got my paper wheel sharpening kit yesterday, going to Harbor Frieght to pick up a cheap bench grinder today.  I'll report once I've had a chance to try it out.

ACE are excellent heads.  Mr. Bob Mayo makes a very durable and fine product.  You'll have everything you need in that kit.  If you have any problems just give us a call.  Thanks,  Jake

I have the KME knife sharpener and love it.
But some of my friends have the wheels from Alaskan bowhunting supply and they love them also.  It is much faster fwiw.

Randy, I am glad you like the KME knife sharpener.  Since you are familiar with it and know how it works I would like to ask... What degree are they sharpening their blades on?  Are they getting a concave..convex or bevel finish? How often do they have to re-sharpen?  Just curious as I am always trying to tweek things.
