Myself and family are looking to visit your great country in January 2011. I have been granted permission from the wife :goldtooth: to go off for a week and do my own thing.
I have been thinking of either trying to arrange a hunt in the US, Canada or Alaska but this will depend on weather and if I can hunt at that time of the year.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Paul
January in Canada can be a bit cold. The regular hunting seasons are over that time. You could hunt coyotes and rabbits with a local. if you wanted to hunt wolves or cougar you'd have to get an outfitter and the cost for either would be around $5000.00 I think.
Some parts of Alabama have a whitetail rut in January. Another good choice would be a hog hunt in one of our southern states, but you have great hog hunting at home. September is great for Rocky Mountain Elk, which is a spectacular hunt accross Western North America. September is also Caribou and Moose time accross Canada/Alaska.
Virginia has bowhuunting whitetail deer till early march....
Jan. Is very late in our season here in Missouri but you're more than welcome to come hunt with me. Our out of state rags aren't unreasonable and for one price you get 2 deer and 2 turkey tags. We also have an abundance of small game(squirrel and rabbit).
I don't have much to offer but whatever I have, it's yours for the asking.
Have a great trip with the family and wherever you decide to visit.
God bless,Mudd
WOW thank you all for your response.
If I had my way I would not be traveling at that time of the year but I want to try and make the most of the trip.
Mudd thank you for your kind offer I will be in contact when dates are finalized.
Thank you all
Cheers

A whitetail hunt during the rut in one of the southern states or Mexico should keep your heart rate up.
Thanks Mike
Paul if coming in January I have an Archery only reserve that is very narrow between a bayou and interstate almost in my back yard and near my humting club.I cannot briing you to my club but can bring you to my camp and some property nearby.A canoe would be a good way to hunt the reserve it is narrow but very long as it follows the interstate.Let me know if any of this intrest you.Kip
I agree about Canada. You would be too late for any of the General stuff except Cougar. It's also pretty cold then as a rule. You need a hunter host or a guide in most if not all provinces. The States would be your best bet for some deer and pig action at that time. Good Luck and enjoy your stay.
Once again thank you all for your replies.
I would love to take advantage of the opportunities while visiting your great country and am more than happy to return the favor if you visit us here in Oz.
I will be in contact once dates are sorted.
Thank you
Paul

Deer and all small game are in season through the end of February in Arkansas. Hundreds of thousands acres of public land to hunt on. I'd be glad to steer you in the right direction.
