Gimmicky, or what? Maybe a varmint head at best, but simply wow.

Umm..... YUCK, I think!

"wow" was strictly a term used to define utter amazement. That head looks pretty useless to me, 'cept fer bunnies or skwerls maybe.

Looks like miniatures of Conan's battle axes mounted on a shaft.

Strange to say the least! I think the guy that came up with it is a pr guy with a fishing lure Co., you know the ones that design things to catch fisher man and not fish! this ones to catch new compound shooters!

I kinda always figure....when a co. comes out with a head....and their heaviest weight is 100 (or even 125) grains.....

......it isn't worth my time.

And I'll bet they sell'em like hotcakes, too. Actually, if they made one in 150gr. I might try some for roving. Of course, by the looks of them, they wouldn't survive more than a shot---maybe two.

I guess these folks have to try new stuff all the time,,,bit like car makers,,new car,,flash as a rat with a gold tooth,,,but no better than last years.

And in this case,,,the rat doesn't even have the gold tooth,,,LOL.

THAT is NOT a traditional bowhunter's cut-on-contact broadhead.

this is the junk that those non-trad bows regurgitate.

'nuff said.

Rob is probably right-----it would be uber-bad if someone decided they actually wanted to TRY this junk on deer and elk as the site suggests.

I am just making light of some "cool" new junk---please don't get the wrong idea guys.

Please feel free to kill this thread and accept my sincere apology for getting "off-track" from traditional equipment.

Rob is right, it's not a "traditional" cut on contact head.....BUT.... I buy up every replaceable blade broadhead I can on closeout and garage sales for small game. Those cheap Allen heads you can get at walmart for next to nothing this time of year are great for picket pins. I also know of more than a few "traditional" bowhunters who use thunderheads on deer sized game with no problems and they've been playing this game a lot longer than me and I've been playing it awhile myself.

It might be gimmicky as you stated but it would kill a squirrel.

Try this: take your wooden arrow, unscrew or unglue the head, than go outside, take 12mm plywood plate of 1m2 put it somewhere vertical so it cant move, take your bow and take the shoot. You will be surprised with result  ;)  you dont need head like this to penetrate 12mm plywood  :D

we need to be setting an example for newbies to trad bowhunting.  these kinda NON-coc heads have no place in our quivers for hunting deer, or hog, or other like or larger game.

yeah, perhaps good fodder for bunnies and skwerrils, just like a chopped off woodsman, but we don't wanna send the wrong message out that "we" (trad gang) endorse these heads for medium and up game.

I'm like Rob here. The NAP site claims that this head is for deer and elk----I just don't see it penetrating much further than the hide on an elk---elk is a TOUGH critter. I wonder what the Fish and Game departments think about this thing?
Even with the fastest bow, this is nothing more than a skwerl head. And a poorly designed skwerl head, at that. It would be much more better if it had a blunt nose vs. that sharp one. Just sayin.
I think that the manufacturers oughta be held to some kind of ethical standard just like the hunters are.

I can see poor penetration with that leading edge snagging stuff, not to mention the point. The trailing edge could almost be classed as barbed, illegal in some states (MI).

All in all, first class junk!

The next time I plan to go out hunting 'plywood',
I might think about trying that head.

It's just plain amazing - or scary- as to what the marketing crowd comes up with for the latest craze.

Honestly, if you got rid of the sharpened tip and replaced it with a 1/4" blunt face, it would be a pretty neat small game point. Not that I'd buy any but...

Frankly I wouldn't shoot that thing out of gun, forget any kinda bow... it reminds my of that turkey bh turkey terror or something like that... when are people going to get it, hunting is NOT about killing and ruthless destruction of animals.  Killing is an integral part, but its not the be-all end-all of what we do.  Quite frankly, that thing looks like it could seriously wound game and be painful... we want quick clean humane kills, not Conan the Broadhead...

Not to get TOO angry, but this is just another example of big business trying to sell an image and marketing to sick fantasies that they perpetuate... grrrrrr!!!

Hope no one uses those things on heavy game. Those blades would likely hang on a rib and snap off; and god forbid the shoulder blade is hit on even a deer with those ridiculous things. NAP must have there heads up their.........because those things are likely illegal in a lot of states (most Conservation officers/game wardens  would call that barbed).

I am amazed at the kind of broadheads that sell well. I never thought rage heads would sell like they do. Im glad in my state expandables are illegal. Im sure this crazy looking head will find a crowd. This still isnt the weirdest looking broadhead ive seen. There are some doozies out there!
