DAS Riser WinEx limbs pulling 56@30

Victory V5 X-Ringer .250 spine 175 grain points.

Planing method. According to the charts shouldn't work.

Personally I let the bow tell me what it likes.

I usually find that the charts do not work for me, so I let the bow determine what arrow I will use.

If i was starting from ground zero, the charts, but the bow is always the deciding factor (because I cause things to happen that also impact the perfect world of arrow charts too).  Unless you are a shooting machine or Rod Jenkins....

Plus, I think bow technology has gone beyond the "simple" charts.  Stu's calculator gives a whole bunch more factors that get you closer, but even then, it is still off for some.

Nothing beats "feet on the ground"!

When I started, I was totally on my own, except for the Easton aluminium chart. I didn't know about TradGang. Those Easton charts got me going. Now that I know a little bit more, of course I prefer to "listen to the arrow".

Good shooting, David! Have fun.

Both, the charts are just a tool to get you close, but you still need to listen to the bow.

Allow the bow and the arrow too tell you what you need, more or less tip weight , more or less brace, charts don't always allow for center shot . cut past, or 1/8th out, FF, b50, or whatever have you. Also form is an issue also, what shoots well for one fella with the exact same specs, may not shoot the same for the next.

Let the bow tell you what to shoot.

The charts have never worked for me especially with carbons.Too much personel shooting indifferences I think. They might give you a starting point but thats about it.My opinion anyway!

a higher brace weakens the arrow, lower stiffens the spine. I personally don't tune that way, I like to find the brace height where the bow is quiet and then mess with arrow length and point weight. Works for me any way, your mileage may vary.

Charts have only worked to get me close with aluminum but are not much help with carbon.

I use the AMO deflection chart as my base.

From there on it's all about tuneing both the bow and arrow togeather.

I find that

Looks familiar. I had the same experience. Acording do the bare shaft gurus I was way too stiff. All my bear shaft were all on the money but were sticking out sideways to the right. The fletched ones with BHs were all on the money.
Who needs charts....., just kiding they just pointed me in the direction.
