I saw the stand and thought, "That's set up the wrong way.....I can't shoot from that".........then I remembered you shoot from the wrong side!!!!! :bigsmyl:

Although my time in the woods with Cade is so very special, being solo sometimes can be very refreshing......

Heck it was just a stump, so I pulled up and shot! I had to pace it off after the outcome.

No gobbles, but I heard every other turkey sound imaginable!
I bet if I was out early in the morning I would have heard some gobbling
That looks like fun. That contraption looks cool to
Awesome! I love the before and after pic with the big ol' hole through the stump and the arrow sticking in the smaller stump. Looks like you got a Double!!! ;)
Looks like a very nice day in the woods with some real nice shooting too!
Curt nice pics as were the ones with Cade. Great times can be had with and without loved ones in the great outdoors. Some times a fellow needs some alone time. When you get back home you know how blessed you really are! TD.
That is an awesome shot. I can't imagine being able to hit anything at that far. Great shooting and thanks for sharing the time with us.
great pics and great day!..wish we had some snow down here in Mexico..
good luck with the turkeys..
Good stuff Curt.
Revisiting successful spots is always fun. Neat how the memories flood back to you again. You can see the deer moving and it almost gives me a bit of buck fever again!
That small hole in the dirt of the last stump is a perfect target. Can't shoot low or you hit the vine. I love finding tricky stump shooting targets. We do that on Tom Porter's (Gatekeepers) 3D range and it is a blast.
Even though you might not take the 62 paces shot on an animal it sure feels cool to know you've hit from there before.
When you going to come over to Tracy's again? Got to meet up with you one of these days.
Chris
Nice shooting....that old contaption was once a thing of beauty and precision....cool
Curt, sure would like to find a flock that size around here. Would save me a lot of work! I've been known to shoot a few turkeys you know.
If you make it back down this way again send me an e-mail or have Don get in touch with me. I'll tell you the story of how I got those turkeys in 1988.
good day out
Good, good!

A fine walk in the woods.
I love double trunk trees like that for my deer stands, when I can find them in the right location. Great pics Curt. Turkeys around hear have been out only two or three at a time.
To cool buddy and nice picks as always :clapper:
I sure don't miss that dang snow now that are has melted off, Just a little left in the shady spots.

In that case I wish I had some Mexico here in Norway ^^
Can't wait for the snow to run off and my arm to get better so I can stump again!
Nice pics Guru, and thanks for sharing :)
I do that with my old stands too. Good memories for sure!
Nice..
That is a lot of snow though. Sunny and 70 here today. Finally!
Great pics Curt ... nothing like a walk in the woods with your bow. Good shoot'n
Our weather is much different than yours, I was mowing my lawn Saturday. The daffodils are blooming and the night frogs are croaking, which is always a sign that winter is over.
Nice pics and great shootin'.
Awesome pics, it's threads like this that I love the most here at TradGang. Keep them coming Curt.
I am jealous Curt.I tried to get out for a walk in the back woods but the knee is still a little tender from surgery.I had to turn back after a hundered yards of busting through a foot of snow.Hopefully this nice weather will make it dissapear.I had to settle for the 14 yd basement range. What a nice day.Glen
Sounds like we need some time in your shop bud

Good deal. Nothing like getting away in the woods from time to time. Great pics!
