What do you guys like better? Thanks. BILL
I've had both and would like both back.
I have the Tomahawk and love it do not know about the Widow PL.
I have shot both, shooting one of Big Jim's Buffalo Bows now, check them out.
I had a Tomahawk SS once.It was ok,but I had problems with the fiberglass cracking.Don`t know about the PL.Never had one.I have a MA III recurve and love it.I like shooting recurves and longbows. But I would love to try a PL.I heard they`re dead in the hand. And shoot realy nice.
PL!
I have both - both great bows. H
Got the Tomahawk. I like it. Fast, quiet, smooth draw and great camo colors. And then it looks sweet!
Both great bows! I liked the grip on the t-hawk alittle better.
They are both very nice and you won't go wrong with either. Both are great folks to deal with as well. Try to try each one out and see what suits you better.
I've only owned and hunted with PLs, but my mate owns and hunts with a Tomahawk. They are both superb bows, and I can only recommend that you go with the one you like the looks of. If budget is a concern, then the Tomahawk would be better. If you want to have more choices, go with the PL.
What I really liked about the PL is that almost any arrow I shot would come out very clean, very easy to tune.
I`ve shot both and I would go with the widow.RC
PL All the way
i own a t-hawk and have shot the widow. both are nice. to me they are very simular shooting bows.
Last month I would have said PL, was really turned off by Widow's customer service!
I love my tomahawk. Hadnt shot a PL but i hope to own one soon
How could you be turned off by Widows Customer Service? Wow... I've never heard that before. I'd say give them another chance. They have always been the best in the world to me..
Robinhood, I'm not calling you out bro. just saying, give them another shot. You must have caught them on the "One Bad Day" everybody deserves in a year.
Seriously, the BW longbows are as good if not better than most. THey are not that fast in my opinion, but not more than 8-10 fps slower than even the fastest of the fsat longbows, such as ACS/ Centaurs....
PL longbows are great bows if you like longbows...
Prefer PL.
Widow has always given me exceptional customer service.
Widow, definitely.
I was trying to order a new PLX but wanted a custom job and wanted to know what I would be limited to first email was responded to and after another 4 unanswered emails I finally heard back and he actually refered me to a different bowyer. All I wanted to know was what my options were before placing the order. I have ordered a number of custom bows from other bowyers and all of them were more than happy to tell me what I could and couldn't do.
Some points on the 2 bows (I have both):
1. PL cut to center - T-Hawk + 1/16
2. PL can be had to 66inch - T-Hawk to 64.
3. PL looks slightly more R/D
4. PL seems to have more mass weight.
5. PL is more costly - there is a build time.
6. T-Hawk may be instock.
7. PL has carbon in limbs.
8. Only T-Hawk "Diamond" has carbon in limbs.
So - both are great bows - you won't go wrong with either. I have three T-Hawks and a PLX. I will be ordering a second PLX very soon. By the way the T-Hawks are made by Bill Forman of Great Plains Bows. I have had only great service from both 3RA and Widow. H
Robhood23, not sure about BW's email, but I have called them and they have been beyond helpfull in answering questions, helping me pick out materials etc. Im sure they have heard my questions thousands of times, but acted like I was the ONLY customer on the planet when I was talking to them.
Ive only shot 1 PL, and liked it alot. Wasnt the smoothest, maybe not the fastest, but just felt "solid", steady, consistent, and obviously built extremely well.... a good thing in a bow that will be hunted hard!
