I like it!
The wood is?
This one is Walnut and Maple.
Nice looking riser,I prefer a wood riser!
Cost vs. the metal riser?
Very nice.
Cost depends on the woods, but they start at the same price as the aluminum risered bow. $950
Very nice lines. Hook it up to the limbs and let's see a full shot.
Looks like you cut the shelf on the wrong side :biglaugh:
This #1, Arvid is left handed.
I'll have pics of limbs on it early next week.
Up for Wannabe1
Holy Cow! I like it! That is sweet. Will it take long bow and recurve limbs both? You can't do this to me Dave! The wife is going to murderlize me. :banghead: :D
It will take Classic, Hybrid, Curve and Wave limbs.
Too cool for school!!!
That is nice!
very pretty!
As promised.

David- any chance of a pic at full draw?
I had Arvid take this one for me at the shop. There are pics of these limbs on the alloy riser at full draw. Just do a search for "wave".
Nope, the limbs aren't a gimmick. They perform very well according to most people who have shot them. As with all bows, it doesn't suit everyone.
I am looking forward to mine in just over 2 months.
Different, but not my cup of tea. What kind of warranty does it come with?
I would rather see the professional results from Blacky or Norb.
I would like to see these in Walk the Talk also for bonafide numbers. A warranty would be nice too.
Personally, the reports I have heard about the bow have been great. Archery for me is about the fun. There will be a bow report at some point I am sure, but I have never bought a bow because of any one person's data or opinion. Of course, I drive a 1982 Chevy Chevette diesel on veggie oil- not because I have to, but because I can. We all have different likes and dislikes, as well as opinions. That's what's great about traditional archery. Our differences allow so many wonderful bowyers to practice their craft.

Sweet. I used to run my 1992 F-250 on grease. The only time I could tell a difference in power was towing heavy loads up hill. I also didn't eat nachos for a really long time after that either.
All the Swans have a 1 year warranty against defects to the original owner/purchaser.
The thread is about the riser not the limbs. There are other threads about the Wave you can discuss it in.
Thanks for the photos vermonster13. I changed my order to the wood riser yesterday. It sounds like there are some great wood combinations possible- although I think the walnut and maple looks very nice. It's also nice that it will accept all the types of limbs.
Sweet! Liked those wave limbs at the bunny hunt, theyd go great with that riser. What is that in the riser taht looks sorta like Oierce points?
Really like the looks of the riser, simple lines sometimes are the best.

Now were talkin!!!!!
Any speed reports yet?
Just couldnt justify it before but now that there is some wood involved I may have to have one.
That riser makes that one of the COOLEST looking bows I've seen. Boy this bow is tempting! :banghead:
Is the bow FF compatible? Can you shoot Endless and Flemish with the bow?
Thanks
Bob
I like the new riser, wood has always been my 1st choice for a riser but I have shot some nice metal riser bows too.
Swans have been FF compatible for a long time. I shoot Ultra-Cam endless on mine.
I prefer Flemish, so no problem with Flemish strings with the FF materials like 8125 etc...?
Thanks
Bob
I think Arvid told me they are working on updates to the website for the Wave limbs and riser. He is so busy building them that it's taking some time. He said the pics were taken and should be on the site in a month or so. That was a couple weeks ago. There is a lot of information on the Wave in the forums here though. I will post more when I get mine in a couple months.
That riser really does have some beautiful lines. I think Arvid hit it on the head on that one.
As an aside, why in the world would a flemish string void the warranty on a Swan?

I was jusr reading thru this and thought the same thing.....
You can use any properly made string on the bow of any material. Just string the bow correctly and use of a stringer is recommended.
That makes sense...it's not flemish that will void the warranty but a poorly built string.
re: "Black Swan bows are designed for use with endless strings; we recommend that only endless strings be used to prevent damage to your bow and voiding of your warranty."
imo, not the right thing to do and sends the wrong message to the wrong people.
an improperly built endless bowstring will do just as much bow and personal damage as an improperly built flemish bowstring.
get rid of that silly disclaimer, arvid! :readit:
RE: "imo, not the right thing to do and sends the wrong message to the wrong people."
Who are these "wrong people" you speak of? Misleading warranty information is misleading warranty information, regardless of who's reading it. That's how unhappy customers are created.
I am sure Arvid would be more than happy to explain his warranty in detail with you when you order a bow. I posted this thread to share the pics of the new riser as for folks have been wanting to see it. I don't sell the bows, I just help Arvid with his sponsorship on here. Thanks for the interest.

you and i both know the value of that warranty statement, but at least some trad newbies just won't understand or know any better or maybe just won't care.

seriously, dave - you know arvid best, that warranty message needs to get revised. if anything, it should just just state that using any improperly built string voids the bow warranty.
The web pages are going to be getting over hauled again soon Rob for pics of the new 1 piece bows, wood risers and to add the Wave. I'll talk over the warranty wording with him but it really hasn't been an issue for those seriously interested in the bows that actually talk with him.
Arvid is more than happy to explain/talk about his products and expertise. I have talked to him twice since I ordered my bow. Both times, he went well above and beyond my expectations and took the time to answer anything I asked. I am a happy customer. Thanks Dave for posting the pics that I can look at during my wait for my bow.
This line is being removed from the web page and is not actually in the warranty.
"Black Swan bows are designed for use with endless strings; we recommend that only endless strings be used to prevent damage to your bow and voiding of your warranty."
Very nice, are these going to make it to Denton Hill this year?
I don't know if Arvid will make it. Odds are I'll have one with me though.
