I have been a big fan of Ace broadheads for quite a while now! They are cheap, easy to sharpen and durable. They also kinda have that throwback look to them with the spotwelded furrel! I just went through all my points and broadheads and found a package of the Ace Express 165gr unopened! I couldnt tell you where they came from but it works out cuz im makin up some elk arrows that need a 160gr point for spine! Anybody ever use the Ace Express? I have noticed that they dont have the triple lam point like the standard does for dealing with bone impact, but still look tough and well built! What does everybody think?
I love mine. I was using the 160gr Ribteks, but when I ran low, the only other 160gr head on the shelf that day was the Ace. I gave it a shot and liked em more than the Ribteks. Quicker to touch up the edge on, on a lot quieter in flight.
I know that Rick Stillman has been using them for years. Hopefully he'll chime in with some of his experiences. I've used every other head in the Ace lineup, but just never had occasion to play around with that particular one.
about 7 years back i used the ace express on hex pines for javies in texas. no javies, but they sure worked great on bunnies. just sold off the remaining 5 arrows. i'm trialing 190gr tusker concordes now ... really like the design, the thicker blade metal, and they fly well on carbon or wood shafts. maybe i'll get lucky and connect with a hog come spring for the final test.

I have shot the ace heads on and off for 10yrs or more, taking a fair amount of game with them to include two white tail bucks this past October. That express is what I used,Great head and a great couple of folks you deal with in Bob and Jan. I like the heads, hexblunts are hard to beat and Throwback is right, from the 1930's I think.Chuck
I used the 200gr and love em, like said above, easy to sharpen and fly really well.... I want to order the vented 175gr with 100gr inserts...
Plus... they do look soooo cool....
I have had excellent luck with em, and its hard to argue a broadhead thats stood the test of time! Heck they even out lasted the Bear Razorhead and have been out longer than the Howard Hill, thats gotta be worth something! My first 6 pack of the 145gr Ace Standards lasted for 4 hunting seasons! I shot 3 deer, 3 turkeys, and not to mention alot of small game and stumps with the same broadhead! I knew it was the same one as it had hardly any paint on it, but still held a good edge with a 6" Grobet file and a Jewel Stick!
