Title: Black Swan Wave
Post by: Greg Owen on March 05, 2010, 04:41:00 PM
I am looking for opinions of people who have shot the Black Swan Wave. I'd like to know if you shot the belly or back mount riser and what length bow. What is your draw length and what is your opinion of the bow?  I am not looking for scientific data, just your thoughts on the bow you shot. Thanks

Greg with your draw the back mount riser will give you better performance. As for folks who have shot it, the old thread had responses from most of the guys exposed to it so far. Only one other than mine in anyone else's hands so far.

Ok. I thought you had said some were going out. I am too excited I guess. I have read the other thread. I sure like the foreward handle aspect of the belly mount though.

Greg, while it is a funky look when you first see it, you soon forget about it when you shoot it.  It is smooooooth while stillbeing quick.  I shot Dave's belly mounted version, personally the only thing that wasn't comfortable to me was the riser, I am just not a fan of that meatl riser.  Now, put one of those in my hands with a back mount wood riser.......yikes!!!!

I am thinking I might have to go with a wood riser now.  I have a beaver tail waiting o cover a handle. But I do like a smaller handle. Decisions decisions decisions.

I shot the back mount, metal riser wave that Dave sent me. It was clear to me, the bow's design is not for my 27" draw. Well built, very close tolerances, all around a very nice bow, but definitely built for the long draw crowd. I'll stay with my Morrison Shawnee.

JC,

I think the bow you shot must of been a 60 or 62 inch version. Wouldn't the 56" version work better for the shorter draw?

Not sure Greg, that would probably be a question for Arvid. As with any bow, I highly recommend shooting it before spending your money.

I spoke with Arvid about it. A 58" or 56" would load up better for JCs draw. Mine is set-up for a 30" draw and is a 62".
