Well I started out good stained sealed and crested and sealed again 2 dozen arrows POC and Magnolia. Then I dyed some feathers to a cool set of colors .Well I thought I was on the ball,And then I began to fletch them and WHAT!!!!! :scared: I measured the placement of the cresting wrong. What and idiot I am.Oh well I now have FOC cresting...LOL

I'm sure they will still fly right. BTW Tim package on the way.
Thanks Ryan
those are cool. I like that feather shape, but have changed up a bit due to a TON of feather noise. I mostly use long longbows..oxymoron, and like the traditional appearance!
They spin fast and I don't get noticeable noise from them
I think having the crest there looks cool. Something different!!
I think there unique!
Makes 'em look faster
Love the Sky Blue feathers...use to have Forgewoods fully dipped in sky blue with all white fletching. Nice job...
Look great Tim.
The Hill heads going on those?
I did the same thing for a buddy of mine and they poke him in the nose at full draw. I told him that was better than getting a clicker for his bow. I moved mine forward a little. They look great, good color combo.
Looks good to me. The blue is a great color.
There is no rule where you put cresting. I like the looks when you add cresting near the point. By the way I think you did a great job.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I may try it :D
Nuthin wrong
Tim, to prevent this from happening I do my nock tapers and handfit nocks, place on measuring board and first measure down 10" and put a pencil mark on the shaft. That is the mark where I cap to or if no cap, mark the crest pattern back towards the fletch. It always works out and looks balance with a 5" feather.
Thanks guys,I still wish I had the cresting in the center,But they do fly,and I love the feather shape I just got a burner and that was my first shape I made.It looks kinda classic.also used the leftover dye on some shafts I had laying around I will post pics of them as well. They look cool light blue.
The front end and where it hits are way more important. It's fun though, ain't it?
Wouldn't that be called BOC cresting? :bigsmyl: Stuff happens. Look good to me and I'm sure the critters won't notice.
Looks great to me, but then I am lazy. I use tapes instead.
Just think of them as "turbolator bands" and
you'll be fine. :jumper:
Show them to a deer. H
Don't look to bad too me!
Looks fine to me!
I see the bright side...looks like your bow hits so hard the cresting kept going.
Lots of my "mistakes" have become "custom." Can't always be doin' what everyone else does. Sometimes different just happens...and it leads me to other places. Enjoy, Rick.
Looks Like They were Meant To Be There!! I Try to Crest in the center of My Fletching, ON Purpose!! Cresting can go ANYWHERE on that arrow and Look Trick!!
