Stopped by one of the big box stores (had a gift card I've been sitting on) the other evening to check out boots. I've been planning on getting a pair of Mucks or Lacrosse Burly's. Anyway I noticed they had the Alpha Lite's for $80 so I bought them on impulse. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with these boots, and if I made a good decision.
It doesn't get too cold here in NC, so I thought they should be ok. Plus, where I'm at deer season is over by the middle of November, and after that I'm in waders. I bought them a size too big so I can be comfortable with liners and big socks on.
I have a pair of them and love them a little more tear resistant than any of my mucks.
I have a pair of the Alpha Burley, they are OK. I just wish I could still find the "old" Burleys or the Big boy burleys.
Lacrosse has always made a good boot in my opinion....I use the burleys for deer huntting here in MI.
I had a pair of the Muck boots but tore a big hole in the side when I stepped on a DEAD WEED stump. I was amazed on how easy they tore. They are not very tough in my opinion. I now have a pair of the LaCrosse Alpha Lites. So far they are holding up but seem to be made of about the same material with a little tougher layer on the bottom and toe.
I really like mine.
Alpha Burley Sports are the most comfortable I have found yet. Seem to be constructed better than Mucks Ive had. The Alpha Burly sole and footbed seem to be much more stable in so called slimey, mucky conditions.
The neoprene holds scent. Comfy, but far from scent free. Mine have a few "shoe goo" patches.
I bought a pair of the 7MM thick with full side zip and I think they are the cat's pajamas ! Easy on and off, warm, and feel like a pair of tennis shoes. Very comfortable and warm with just 1 pair of merino wool socks down to 10 degrees. Buying another pair this fall for my son unless something else new comes out that I think might be better.

I like the neoprene Bog boots best for cold, wet weather. They feel the most like my moccasins, and they are warm.
I second the Alpha Burly Sports.. I got a pair for an Alberta moose hunt a few years ago, and wound up spending the week in them. Lots of miles, and not a complaint. Very comfortable, too. They're the best knee boot I've ever tried.
I wore out some Alpha Lite's in four months of hunting. They were the thin ones, 3.5mm I think. I've since bought some Mucks, and they are holding up better. I now see some thicker Lacrosses for sale now. They would have to be better than the ones I had.
I also picked up a pair for eighty bucks yesterday at basspro. Got home and walked over into the woods for about a couple of miles and loved them. I didn't have to stop and pull up my socks once. Very comfortable for rubber boots.
Have had a pair of the Alpha Burly Sport for 2-3 years now. Wear them all the time when hunting without complaint, unless it gets really cold, but my feet get cold more easily than other folks. Good investment for the money so far.
