WORK! It's final! I won't be able to attend this year's PBS Biennial Gathering in Nashville. This is one of the best gatherings of fine gentleman (and woman) bowhunters in the world and I will sorely miss meeting and getting reacquainted with many of you.
If you have anyway at all of attending this event you should do so!
Have a great time everyone!
Thanks to everyone who has helped put the banquet together. I've been to two over the past 20 years and understand the time and committment members put forth to make this huge event run so smooth. I'm proud to be part of the PBS family.
I won't be able to make it due to "family stuff", but be assured it will be a fantastic time for all those who attend!
Tim
I was hoping to make my first this year...but it doesn't look good right now :(
I couldn't imaging the work that goes into it :notworthy:
Curt, I too was looking forward to this being my first one, but REAL LIFE just keeps getting in the way. Family, work, home improvements, state bowhunting association work, etc...
Someday!
I'll have to wait for the next one myself. It is suppose to be out here as I recall. Sounds like a great event to attend!
That's too bad you guys can't make it happen. What is also unfortunate is those that think this is just another archery event, well its not. This goes way deeper than something like Kalamazoo, Cloverdale, ETAR, etc.
Since I live far away from most everything and this is the only such event that I will go out of my way and do everything can to attend.
We will miss you all there.
Terry,
Pam & I were both looking forward to seeing the two of you again.
Best of luck!
Sorry to hear so many of you can't make it. I have had that same problem myself a few times and I know the feeling well.
Dad, Mom, Chloe Beth and I will be there and we can't wait! Only 2 hours from Home. Reservations are made and just counting the Days :)
I'm only 2 hours north of "Music City" and will be there even if I have to walk:^)
Steve H. keeps hoping he will win some sort of prize for greatest distance traveled. Will never happen as long as Blacky is around!
Must be serious for you to miss this banquet.
I was looking forward to hanging out with you and making more hunting plans. Guess it is better for you to miss this banquet than "our" moose hunt this fall :archer:
I to feel the pain, i booked a job a year and a half ago without even thinking about the date. Yep the job is set for the same Saturday as the banquet.
I'm in the same boat as you guys. Life keeps getting in the way of all the fun I could have!
Claudia
Rich, we will definitely miss you guys as well.
Jeff, we definitely have some fun hunting this fall. I'll miss you my good friend. You'll love the slide show at Saturday's dinner!
I think I'm going to make it. They got my money last week atleast so hopefully the jaws of life won't get me before I get to Nashville. Lookin forward to my first PBS event.
I booked a hunt a year ago for that weekend....a little hard getting out of it now.
I'm donating a knife though..you guys that are going bid it up!!!!!!
Yes, very unfortunate that ANY one has to miss the PBS Banquet and Gathering. Terry, thank you for all of your hard work for PBS, we really appreciate it! Hopefully we'll see you this summer. Not everyone will miss the banquet though. I have it on "good authority" that there will be over 400 coming for dinner on Saturday evening...
I had been planning on attending this one, would have been my first since Wheeling WV. However Family circumstances have deemed it necessary that I stay close to home till things are settled here. Not really sure exactly when that may be.
Was going to cancel attending the TBOF 20th Championship shoot this coming weekend also, but the wife said since I had already made arrangements to have a PBS booth at the shoot she thought it best that I continue with the plans. (That was awfully understanding of her.) It's a shame she doesn't feel the same about attending Nashville. But when I bring it up she says, "just go Turkey hunting, you'll be close to home and only gone in the morning."
Well, at least she understands I need to do something to keep the stress down!
Have a great time everyone! Wish I could be there to bid on a few of the donated bows I've seen on some recent threads!
Kevin, I'm hating the fact I'm missing my first in a lot of years.
Those 400 on Sat. are not just anybody, they are the best bowhunters in the world! What an event!
I'm going for my first time, talked my hunting buddy into going, also his first time. It's a long drive but i'm not getting any younger, who knows what tommorrow will bring. If you see a couple of guys walking around looking lost, it's probably us. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
R.W.
Ok, the last full weekend of March 2012 will be the NEXT gathering, so plan ahead and don't double book!
This will be my second banquet and I can not wait. I am bringing my girlfriend to show her what pbs is all about. I believe this is one of those weekends you have to actually attend just to see what it is all about. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Nashville.
Terry, how about if I write you an excuse to get out of work, LOL?
I've been non-committal either way, hoping that some way I might be able to make it, but circumstances keep me home again, I'm afraid. A fellow has to prioritize a bit, and although a few days of visiting and re-aquainting with my friends is high on my "want" list, it falls somewhere lower on my "need" list at this time.
I did mail off to Ethan a signed and personalized print, and copy of a soon sold out book that is also signed and personalized by the artist that I work for. It should make a nice donation.
I know you all will have fun there, and I sure wish I could be there with you all.
