Well, first off I want to say thanks to Elmer Patton at Crow Creek bows. He as most of our bowyers are saints in putting up with picky customers like myself. I think I made 49 changes through this process.
I also would like to thank Mike at Rosewood archery products for picking out some of his very nice woods for this bow. I really enjoyed selecting my own woods from the source. This made the "Custom" experience that much more satisfying for me.
Well here it is in the building stages and the final product. Specs are 58" bow and 50# @ 28". Woods are Cocobolo riser w/gray actionwood flair with boo cored limbs and Tiger Myrtle lams. Kind of a crazy combo but I wanted something different in this one.
Thanks Elmer and Mike.
T.J.

Beautiful bow!
WOW!! Very Nice...
very nice bow.
Very unique combinations. I like it a lot. Got a pic of it strung?
Great job on the wood combo. Love them limbs!!
Wow, Tom...that's a beauty! I like your wood choices. :clapper: Let us know how your impressions after you shoot it.
Elknutz, its not actually here yet. I will post one when she arrives. The limbs are R/D which makes for some beautiful lines when strung.
Redboar, I actually bought one from the classifieds and shot it for a few weeks and loved it. I'm/was actually a recurve only guy so my 2 cents on a long bow is well...worth about 2 cents. But I liked the bow well enough to sell that one I bought second hand and order a new one with the woods I wanted. They are very smooth, quiet and stable. I actually shot my personal best round ever at a 3-D shoot with it.
Oh and this is Elmers Crow Creek Mag. He also has a Blackfeather. The two are very similar but this Mag has a shorter riser.
Very nice bow you got there, TJ. Looks like it's gonna be a real shooter for sure!
Very nice looking bow!
Pretty cool, you not only picked the wood combos but were able to actually select the specific pieces of wood used.
Everything fits together nice especially the tiger myrtle limbs. Beaut!
That one is a keeper !!!!!
Elmer Patton is one of the nicest guys that you will ever have the opportunity to work with. He also makes a very nice looking as well as a performing bow. My very first custom bow was one of his Blackfeathers........it's a keeper too.
I also like your choice of woods.
Winterhawk1960

Tom

:clapper:
great looking bow, you won't be disappointed. Elmer's bows shoot as good as they look.
great guy to deal with also.

Tom,
That is one beautiful bow.
Congratulations.
I've never shot one of Elmer's bows, but have heard nothing but good.
Good work all around on that bow. Real unique on the overlays.
Beautiful bow from a talanted bowyer, hope you give us a review T J.
Pretty bow. Hows about a pic of it strung up.
Should be here tomorrow I'll get a strung pic up then.
Oh my, I just opened the box and WOW she's a beauty. I'll get some photos up tonight.
Very nice, What a unique looking bow. Never seen one like it
Really nice TJ, Great wood choices. I am really starting to like Tiger Myrtle. I've seen it on a few bows now. Those are some pretty limbs !!

A very appealing match!
Went to TJ's tonight to shoot a little and down a beer or two....the bow looks sooooo much better in person! Shoots as good as his other one if not better. Elmer did a great job! It took Tom a whole 1/2 hour to have this thing shooting bullets. Great bow dude! Congrats!
I must confess....I was leary about the wood combos, it being 58", and the matte finish. That learyness was quickly wiped away when I held and shot the bow. Nice!
That is one fine looking bow!! Good for you Tom!
I like the look on this 3 piece LB.
Nice timber.
Very nice, I really like the gray accents.
TJ, what kind of grip options does he offer?
Mark
I've been working WAY too much lately Tom. I just found this thread. She turned out really nice! (As if you didn't know that already!!! LOL)
Now if I was just a little closer to your part of Kentucky so I could get in on some of those "tuning" sessions... :archer:

Mark I'm not sure, this is his normal grip.

I wish you were closer Allen, I need all the help I can get.
Tom, I was thinking about helping out with those 12oz. silver cans.... :goldtooth:
I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder with trad bows, but as a newbie, this is one of the nicest color/wood combos I've seen so far.
Congrats!
Tim

Oh I see. I'm good there already plenty of help with those.
I guess we could work on bows between cans...LOL
Did you guys get them tuned in last night??
Yeah the Crow Creek is shooting good right now with little effort. It's liking my 500 Easton Trad Only's with 100 grain inserts and 100 grain points. Here is a 6 arrow 20 yard group from this afternoon. Not up to your standards but good for me.
We cut down an arrow and got Mikes Shawnee pretty close, but it still needs some fine tuning I think. He is also trying to find the sweet spot in the grip as well. He is used to shooting his widow with a high grip that places his hand the only way it can go and with this low grip there are more options. Also too many cold ones and not enough time. Hehe.

Nice Jesse. Let me know what you think after you have some time with it. Did you get the Ebony/Bocote riser with juniper limbs? Post the picts of it here if you can.
that's the one i got.probably be next week before it arrives.
