Hey all,
I have a 1971 or 72 Bear Grizzly. The riser is BROWN and the limbs are black on the belly and back. It has some scratches and scuffs and I am thinking about refinishing it and making her look really good. Then I thought that if I go to that length I might want to put some skins on it to enhance it even more.
I have never had a bow with snake skins on it so I don't know how well it would look. Naturally I'd have to find the right color skin to use and from what I have seen so far a copperhead would prolly look the best on this color riser.
So I thought I'd ask you all and see what you all thought. How do you think skins would look on my vintage Grizzly? Is there another snake other than Copperhead that would look best on a BROWN riser?
What do you think?
Thanks for the help.

I like copperheads on just about any bow. Coaster500, that's a really nice lookin bow you have there.
;) Are brunettes prettier than redheads?
Personal choice, I suppose.
Whatever you decide to do, have fun shooting!

I think skins look good on old Grizzlies.
Well I guess that answers that question doesn't it!
WoW Kenny, you did a Beautiful job on those two old timers man! :clapper:
Coaster 500,you did good buying that bow.I watched at it many times and i would like to make/find a lh like that.
Nala:I am considering myself toskin some beated but still good shooter Bear bows. You can always use a kind of glue that can be washed off later like Titebond III.
Great work Kenny !!
That was a definitive answer to the question :bigsmyl:
Felix, a poor little bear will feel lonely in the herd of Robertson's you own :)
I have some diamond backs that I put on a chek-mate that I love. I would find it hard not to put them on more bows in the future... I got mine from pine hollow, nice skins. They have been on there for 3-4 years and are showing a little wear, so it's probably time for some refinishing.
Good Luck
I put rattle snake skins on a newer style Bear Super Kodiak. It had a slight greenish hue or tint to it.But it still looked realy nice. It`s not hard to do either.
Naw, leave the snakes alone.
Paint it camo.
