I'm not a big camo fan, but some cases call for a little paint. I just bought a takedown bow for cheap and decided to paint it since the riser was mismatched laminated wood anyhoo 8^). I thought I would show you how I go about it.
The bow as it was was painted an ugly green/blue from the factory, and needed tweaked at the pivot. I did some sanding and shaping, then went about with the camo.
I used a cover of satin black Krylon, then a dusting..sort of...of almond Krylon. After that I took a few stems from the Arbor Vitae shrub from the side of the house, and used it for a template. Holding the A.V. against the bow, I then oversprayed with black again, they a clear satin. Here is how it transpired.....not professional, but functional.
It will still need buffed out with 0000 steel wool to eliminate the shine from the acrylic.
The paint is fairly cheap, and you can do a bunch of bows with three cans.

Very nice and functional. I have done a similar technique using maple leaves instead of arbor vitae.
How cool is that? Way!
Thanks George!
I don't happen to have anything to paint right now but I sure hope I remember this when I do because yours looks pretty darn good.
