Last night while waiting for my daughter to come home from the movies I caught tred barta show. It was on fishings basics, teaching two guys how to catch fish. They have lots of money invested in gear but couldn't hook a fish. I see this alot,i.e I'm a much better fisherman than a hunter. It boiled down to how you only needed the basics,a circle hook,rubber band,simple things first. The moral was how much the average person has access to technology,infomation,gear but have not acually use it. Thus the value of trail and error. As in TBB1 stated you can read all you want about building a bows but sooner or later you have to make shavings. I think alot of us spend so much time on gear,ideas ect.. but what we really need is just time in the field making mistakes. :campfire: :coffee:

I follow what you are talking about... All information and knowledge needs to be applied in the proper way. When I first started out with trad archery the books and videos scratched only the surface of what was needed to be "good with a bow". It's when I got out to trad shoots and met others (who helped me along) that I became a better shot!
Same goes for hunting I guess. In fact, lots of things in life.
