well i finally made up my mind and traded my RER for a Shrew. i absolutly loved that rer,but i dint have any extra cash, and i love the shrews. so i said heck with it and made the trade..
its 54" and 61#@29". its waiting for me at home as we speek, so its gonna be a long day here at work!! cough, cough..lol :banghead:
i'l be sure to post some pics later tonight.

Sounds like you have a family emergency!!! There was a child left at your door! When you get back to work the next day tell your boss the kid was a real shrew so you shot it and you locked it up in the basement.
61#?? Wow...not a huge jump in weight but a jump nonetheless.
I cant help but laugh picturing you watching the clock.
Congrats my friend.
yeah, im that guy.. im pacin around thinkin of ways to get outta here!!
61#@29" i got that wrong in the first post. so im thinkin 58ish at my 28" draw. it should be pretty similar in feel.
got any ideas as to arrow setups for this bow.
i WAS shooting GT 55/75s 29 1/2" with 250 up front.
gaff
Those are great looking bows cant wait to see some pictuers.
Did ya get the SECRET HANDSHAKE with the Bow?
When you open the box, careful it don't escape. Mine have always been attached to the bow in little fuzzy blue bags....Extras can't be had either :clapper: :clapper:
How about a GT 55/75 29.5" with 235 up front and 30 in the back?
ok david ya got me confused.... what does the 30 grains in the back gonna do??

My 48 at 28 Shrew Classic Hunter takes an arrow that has a spine of 72-73 pounds on the Stu Miller dynamic spine calculator. You may need to move up 15 to 25 pounds in spine over the draw weight in order to get an arrow to tune well. If I were you, I would start right around an 80 pound spine.
It keeps the dynamic spine up with that weight up front for 9.5 gpp. The gt insert weighs 20 gr and a nock around 10 so that is pretty much without stacking weight. For a slightly lighter and faster arrow you can drop the front to 220 gr, 145 pt & 75gr weight and ten grains in the back for nock weight and match the bow pretty much dead on with 8.9gpp and about a 514gr arrow.
I hit my shrew almost on the nose with the calculator, I think I trimmed 1/4" one time during bareshafting. It was the easiest and quickest bow I have ever tuned for.
wow, i deffinatly have ALOT to learn about tuning a arrow. i would like to shoot beeman MFX's. and 8.5-9 gpp would be a nice medium.
anybody got a similar setup? if so how about helpin me out..lol

I shot a CH at Kzoo and it loved my 5575 at 31" with 225 on the front. I draw 29 1/4 - 29 1/2". The bow was about 52-53# at that. Based on that I personally would start with that 29.5" and 225 to see what happens. I don't think you would be too far off.
ok i opend the box strung it, and set the brace height to 7 1/8th. it loves my GT 55/75s..
its quick, and dead silent.
im slakin on the pics, but i'll have some by tomm am!!
GAFF
Um....it is the AM.

well, so far ive shot about 20 arrows and im liking it. im not gonna lie tho, i see myself tryin to trade it for a grey classic hunter..
dunno why, i just like tho looks of plain bows.

Looks nice. Looks like someone was shooting a really stiff arrow out of it or something. I have never seen a strike plate that chewed up.
Gaff, velcro for the rest and the 30 grains on the back end of the arrow will just stiffen it up. Any weight added to the back end stiffens an arrow. I figured your arrows would be about dead nuts on anyway. Congrats! Shawn
Nice bow my friend. Something sweet about a longbow, eh?
Nice bow man! I like the looks of it a lot.
Cool! Thanks for sharing.
God bless,Mudd
