We finally got a break from all the snow and ice that's hitting us week after week so I thought I would see if I could locate some gobblers for the spring season and maybe find a few sheds while I was at it.
I was in to the turkeys pretty quick but couldn't get close enough for some really good pics.
I was working my way down a hedge row and watching for trails crossing the fence hoping there would be a shed or two.
I saw a few deer jump up ahead of me and take off so I stopped and tryed to get a pic but they were to fast. I couldn't help but notice the size and how strait some of these Osages trees were and how I needed to harvest some of them for bow wood.

Take a closer look at the first big tree half way up.

Cool Pics! Thanks!
Great photos. I aw my first Bobcat with a cub this year in Misouri. Kind makes me wonder if I have ever walked under any.
That is awesome, glad to see I am not the only one neck deep in turkeys, too bad I havent seen any where I actually hunt, lol.
That cat is awesome, I didnt even notice it at first, that is funny that you just happened to look up. Sweet photo's, keep em coming
Now, What are the odds of walking down a half mile long hedge row on crunchy snow and ice and stopping at a certain spot looking up and seeing this. I would say that it was pure luck!!
That was my first view when I looked up. I'm sure glad I had the camera.

Makes me wonder how many times while squirrel hunting while lookin up in trees did I not see one, lol. I have seen one before, but it disapeared, now I know. I dont know why it never occured to me that they can climb trees. I have read that gray foxes can too!

Great pictures Tracy. There are more Bobcats around here than ever. Haven't gotten one to pose like that for Me yet.
Saw a good flock of birds out by the Historic marker there on 56 highway Sunday. Daughter played a Volleyball tournament at Baker.
Like You I've been wanting to go look for some sheds also. Weather has sucked though. Supposed to be above freezing for a couple of days so I might venture out. Take care.
bretto
I live a mile south of that marker Brett I need to get you my cell #. :wavey:
Your right it's been hard getting out and looking with this bad weather. The turkey's are strutting though I will try to get some pics.
We have no shortage of cats around here either and see them every year from are tree stands but I have a heck of a time getting them on my trail cameras's.

Yeah man some great pics.
Just got to add these two more. It was funny how the coon bowed up to the cat; defending IT'S pile of ducks.

I had a little time to get out today and checked one of my favorite valleys that I have found sheds in before with some south facing slopes with no snow on them.
North facing, Try finding a white shed on that hill.
Lets go back and take a closer look at the first photo.... See what I see?
Not to bad a shape for being a year old and not a fresh shed.
I know this rack!! And have trail cam photo's of him too.

Picks later in the season during the rut.
And this last season during the rut working a scrape. He's a short legged stocky buck and made it through another season. I can't wait to see him again this fall.
