Post by: unregistered on February 25, 2010, 05:18:00 PM
Well I just finished reading Howard Hill's "Hunting the Hard Way" and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I am lookin into buying a book by Fred Bear. Which book do you folks recommend?

I'll second "Field Notes".   Charley Kroll's biography of Fred is excellent also, as is Dick Lattimer's "Hunt with Fred Bear"  and "I remember Papa Bear".

I've read all but Krolls biography. Lattimer's books were good but I would say Field Notes was my favorite.

I'd recommend "Trailing a Bear" by Bob Munger, "Remembering Papa Bear" by Dick Lattimer, and "Bows on the Little Delta" by Glenn St. Charles as well as "Field Notes".
