Well, you've done it again....you've wore out our server in about a year. What was suppose to be the latest greatest wiz bang-quad cored-giga bite monster -super stratosphere server is now coming up lame. I don't know how ya'll do it, but this is about the 5th time we've had to to upgrade in the last 7 years. :readit:
I'll be talking to Rob again today and making a final decision....and He'll make a post about it once we figure it all out.
Wish us luck!!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Hope everything works out and let us know what we can do to help in any way.
oh the price of succes. lol good luck

All the best to you guys and thanks for keeping things rolling!!!!
Membership Fees? Tell us how much.
Tradgang Forever....Forever Tradgang :clapper:
Good luck to you guys!
Terry sorry...I wear this site out daily! :) My clinic runs a bit slower on good hunting story post days on Tradgang. You guys do an awesome job and I am priviledged to be a guest here.
All the above X 2
I am partly to blame for some of the traffic. What can we do to help Terry.
Yes, what Kenneth Said!!
im not a wealthy man by any means, but im sure i could come up with another 20 bux if it will help! do not be afraid to ask.
Jason
I guess it is 2010 isn't it. Time for me to renew my contributor status.
Hey Terry, aren't you giving out gold watches this year to all contributors? :saywhat:
I'll buy 51% of the company. That should be enough to buy a few servers????
money on the way..... I've been lazy about my 2010 contributor status.
Thanks for having me.
BobW
Terry, When I get my pay check I'll be sending money to help out. I may even up grade my sponsorship. Even if that means I have to make things to sell.

Even Better
Contribution on the way. Should have done sooner, sorry.
Thanks
Yup, thanks guys for the great site. I just renewed my contributorship too. Keep it rolling.
Terry just took care of 2010. Hope this helps.
Contribution sent! Thanks for providing such a great website.
I didn't get the idea that Terry was talking about money as much as technology.(Yes I know technology costs) I thought he was referring to the fact that the family has grown and needs a new house..lol
Question? Terry, all in all is this a really good thing/problem or a bad one?
God bless,Mudd
PS Terry please don't hesitate to ask or tell us if there's stuff/anything we can do to help short of staying off Tradgang.
Contribution sent. Thanks for this great site.
Just sent my 2010 contribution Terry.
Danny
I'll pretend its Christmas. BTW, I've been VERY good this year.
Can you get one so BIG that we can load photos straight to it instead of at photobucket etc?
I'll share waaay more stuff but don't always have time o go do the photobucket thing and my office computer won't even let me in pb.
I have been a daily viewer an a sometimes participant here for a long time. I really LOVE this site and most all of the members on here.. Really "a breath of fresh air" compared to other sites. After reading your post Terry I forked out the $20 and just became a Contributor, just to "help out a little".Heck I get WAY MORE than $20 bucks worth of enjoyment from this, my favorite site, and wanted to do a little, to keep it as great as it has been..
Terry, Rob
Let us know if we can offer any help
become a Contributor its the best $20 you'l spend on tradhunting every year.
So I should have to pay more :bigsmyl:
Hey it's how I start and end my day...sorry guys
jer Bear
This may have gotten lost in the middle of my post and I'd like to know....
Question? Terry, all in all.. is this a really good thing/problem to have? or a bad one?
God bless,Mudd
What a shame...
Sounds like you need a bunch more skilliwiggles in your hypergadgets. See...and you thought I didn't know anything about this technology.
QuoteOriginally posted by Steve H.:

The problem with that Steve is that folks will also use it to store vacation, b'day, wedding pics etc....
Not sure we would have a way to monitor that or not...least that's been Rob and my worries for years...let me chat with Rob about that.
QuoteOriginally posted by Mudd:

Don't really know Mudd...but it's something we have to deal with either way you look at it. Especially since we have a huge focus for the St Judes kids every year. Draggin and crashing servers looses money for the kids is main thing, along with folks being able to smoothly click through the site with ease...and some folks are still on dial up...that makes it REAL slow for them.
That would be kinda redneck, storing your wedding pictures on a traditional archery website.
Atlanta we have a problem.....
Terry, tell Rob to stop playin with little swervers and get the biggest meanest swerver in Geaawwwga. Trad Gang Data Centre in the works. Bigger has gotta be betta in Geaawwwga, it works for Texas.
I don't know anything about hi-tech stuff but contribution on the way- from the heart I might add!
I'd be lost without this great site.
Kyle
I'll donate twenty bucks. How do I get it to the right people?
I found the right thing to click on, now I'm paid.
Twenty bucks a year is cheap. I spend allot more on dish tv, and don't watch the crap.
I hear ya Stinson....get this, I aint never even SEEN a Trad Gang server....it aint in Gawgia. Rob aint ever seen one cause it aint in Jersy either.
Just need to tell our Hostess to get the Mostest....again!!!
T: I think we are talking different things. I'm talking like the set up at the "other" site where you have the option of downloading a photo at the same time you make a post to a thread. Its strictly one post one photo so no possibility of storage of 80 picture from little Jimmy's birthday party there!
AH...Steve...gottcha!!!!....That's Robs department...I'll see what he can do about that.
Have you considered putting a paypal contribution button on your site?
B
2010 taken care of......
Good luck guys i hope it goes well and thank you for all the hard yards ya put in. :notworthy: :notworthy:
Rob/Terry,
Does it make a difference if some us are logged on and lurking a few minutes at a time most all day? If 99% of our time is spent lurking, would it help to only log in when we are posting? I generally have a TG window open at all times. Just wondering what else from a usage standpoint could be done.
I keep telling myself I should post more, but it always comes down to time and laziness to type. I hate to think I'm using resources if I'm not adding to the conversation. It would motivate me to post more, or at least log out until I develop better habits. :D
Hey Terry, Thanks again for the great site. Just contributed. I'm here just about daily. Much appreciated. Jeff Harper
Brian, there is a link on the PowWow page to become a contributer. It's in the upper left corner of the page.
QuoteOriginally posted by Brian Gillispie:

Had one for years now....under the Asbell banner on the top of the PowWow...
Bear....no worries.
I think it's time I become a "contributor" also... Love this place and want to add my Fare Share....
Gene
Sorry.
Terry maybe if you moved the contribute to link closer to the NEW TOPIC.. POST REPLY wouldn't be so hard to find. Kinda gets lost up in all those headers
I don't know if it makes much difference or not, but I think we all could go into our "Messages" and delete ones we don't need hanging around.
Good idea Snag! I'll go see what I can delete now!
Thanks!
God bless,Mudd
PS It might just be a drop in the bucket but it could also be the straw that broke the camels back or caused the bucket to over flow.
I'm with Bear. I am always logged on at my work computer (24/7) and logged on most of the time when I am at home. Does this suck up system resources????? I will log off at work when I'm not on, if needed. Anyway, 20 bucks to become a contributor is a real bargain for what is available here. No, it's a steal! I look at it like a magazine subscription, which costs about as much or as little, depending on how ya look at it. With a magazine, you get it once a month (or every 2 months like my only subscription...TBM). Once you have read it, you've read it. <--- hmmm that's a good quote. Here, there are new "articles" daily, or hourly, etc. Plus plenty of stuff to buy, which I realize isn't the purpose of TradGang. Terry, if there is any way we can help, please post and we will try.
Guys...I wasn't posting this cause the sky is falling!!!...we aren't going to fall off the map if you don't delete your old messages. ;)
Its just starting to drag a bit, and that's a sign...no real immediate threat...but we are addressing the issue before it becomes a real problem.....and well before St Judes.
Don't worry a bit about your daily routines...not a problem.
Terry, if it helps at all, I'll start bidding on COOKIES early... :bigsmyl:
Terry, just signed on as contributing member, thank you all for this site! I would have lost my mind last year if this site wasn't here, off my feet for 6mos. if it wasn't for all your stories and ideas I would have snapped. Thanks all! Todd
I must apologize. I have used this site for years and like an idiot I never saw that we could contribute to help out. Money has been sent. Keep up the good work for us and the kids of St. Judes.
Your in HIBERNATION....We can't see or hear you (http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d171/IronBull_/Smileys/fighting0061.gif)

Thanks guys...I should have everyone's profile updated in a bit....
Tradgang = civility = success
You cannot find it everywhere... thanks for all you do!
James Gainey I need your member number...your paypal email is not in our system. Thanks.
Awesome site! Thanks for providing a place for so many to gather.

ooo, I hate being broke . . . college will do that too you, sorry I cant contribute, only have 24 bucks in the bank and owe 36 to the school, lol. But boy do I appreciate what you guys do!
Terry, I'll get a check in the mail, I've been meaning to anyway so now is a good'a time as any. I appreciate all that you guy's do! Thank's, Jason
Terry, you got me feeling excited about supporting the site. so I want to be a contributor can we pay that with a credit card.Or does it have to be a check?.I don't do paypal.
Don't sweat it, Chris. We'll cover for you, this once. :readit:
Now, go do your homework, learn lots of terrific stuff that you need to know in order to develop a cutting edge career for yourself. Get on the Dean's List, graduate with honors or crumbled laudenum or whatever, so that you will get the real preeeemo breaks that lead to complete financial independence. Then, you can return triumphant to your archery family and support TradGang and a few deadbeats like me in the style in which we would like to become accustomed.

This was just an announcement about us upgrading again. Its quiet amazing really at what all goes on here. We'll get her done, no one needs to fret over it. :readit:
I'm going to get a check in the mail to help out even though things are tight. This site helps me when I am unable to get out in the woods myself. I love reading all the stories and getting some helpful input. What a site this is! :campfire: :clapper:
Terry don't lock it I have been procrastinating on contributing anyway so don't take the guilt statement seriously it's a habit from replying to my wife as she says I always put things off.Can it be done by CC or does it have to be a check?
Paypal or check...I don't have a way to take CCs.
Thanks,

$$ sent. Seems I am so much in a hurry to get on here and see what's going on that I never noticed the "contributions" button.
2010 contributution will be on the way soon.Sorry for being lax.I find myself on this site way to much (ask my wife).
No guilt Terry, we just want this place to be here for a long time :)
Thanks to you and everybody here that makes it happen.
growing pains my friend growing pains....Joe
Congratulations on the wonderful level of success, and thanks for all that you do.

Here's a tid bit of info FYI that only Rob and I know....and think it should be shared. Our Trad Gang server is maned 24/7/365. There is someone always watching over our server at all times. That's why you don't see Trad Gang down for a long time. Its usually only a few minutes.
That isn't what you see when 'maintenance' is being done. That's me or Rob taking the system down for a re-synch ....and most of the time that's Rob not me. It scares the heck out of me to take it down. Afraid I'll click the wrong button!!!!
Terry, Thanks for the update. Love the site and proud to be added to the list of contributors.
The information shared on this site is priceless for us trad folks. I can't begain to imagine how much work is involved to keep it up and running as smoothly as it does. Thank you Terry, Rob, and everyone else responsible for providing us with the greatest traditional site anywhere...period. Jim
yep, nice place to hang out when theres no hunting to do...good job guys
2010 contribution sent. Thanks Rob and Terry!
You guys do a great job of policing this site, greatly appreciated..
contribution made, should have done earlier regarding all the money advice from all you saved me!
FOLKS,
Yes, you can contribute using a credit card - just use PayPal, you DON'T need to be a PayPal member to send money using a credit card.
Hope this helps, and thank you VERY much!
Wow Rob....I didn't know that. Thanks.
Rob, Terry, and everyone else involved with keeping it up and running, ya'll do an excellent job and we all appreciate it very much. This is just like home and family to most of us. This traditional stuff gets in your blood and I can't imagine not having the whole Tradgang family to keep in touch with. You guys are great, and I'm proud to be a part of it all.
God Bless,
Charlie

I understand the whole photobucket thing, but it is a pain. I would pay to use such a premium service! All I would want is to post pictures into the stories directly and not have to link them in through photobucket or the like. I truthfully don't post a lot of pictures because of that. I know that can be an argument to not offer it, but hey, everyone loves pictures.
I am thinking no one wants to see me on the beach with my family on vacation :-)

our forum software has no feature option for allowing post attachments. we've tried to migrate to other, more robust forum software several times, all failed - we're just too big. however. we're still pursuing this feature.
I head ya. We don't want to see that here either. But folks could use tradgang to STORE family pics to be posted on other sites my space. Face book. Personal web pages emails etc. We do not want to go there.
Im looking into what Steve said after his 1 st comment.
Excellent T! I tried to lobby for this feature once or twice earlier but I don't think I got my point across what I was hoping for.
Ease of use encourages participation, participation does the vendors good because it brings people back and keeps them here so I see this as a big win if you can get it done.
As an example, to post one photos with a thread thru photobucket would take 5-10 minutes by the time I go logon, resize, get the IMG name, and get it into the text. I can do the same in about 20 seconds with direct photo posting.
THANKS for looking into this feature!

therein lies other concerns such as image size. it would make no real sense to have an post attachment upload without the forum software automatically resizing the thumbnailed image to 640 wide, and have it clickable to enlarge to its full size.
this is a feature we are pursuing with third party programming. not only would it be good for the posters, it's good for all of trad gang since now your images would reside on our server, always be available, and never get lost in shuffle on some photobucket server.
Just keeps getting better all the time
Terry, the paypal link on the "contribute to tradgang" button is not working for me! Please send instructions via PM.
Never mind Terry, 3rd time's a charm! Contribution sent, thank you!
P.S. George has it wrong... Check the kanuter-flanges. Those tend to go out first.
Contribution for 2010 sent through pay pal. Thanks to everyone for all the work they do to keep this site going. Great Job!!

Well I have a vast knowledge of computers, as I am young and have grown up with them, but absolutely no knowledge on web stuff. However on some sites they will just simply not let you attach files if they are too big! I have absolutely no idea how they do it, but they do it,lol. Anyway, I think the system the way it is is fine, but just thinking aloud

all of that is a function of the forum software. you either have it as an option or you don't. we don't.

yeah, kinda ironic, ain't it?
but then again, who of us is gonna give up our current, modern lifestyles and turn the clock back to yesteryear and live without a truck/car, indoor plumbing and electricity? :saywhat:

OOOO, kinda like trying to slow mo video with editing software, without slow mo, lol :biglaugh: , got it.
It is very ironic that we are not only talking about it, but almost dependent on the new high tech gizmos, lol
I am sure if we have to still use photobucket when this is all said and done, that we will most definatly survive
All the computer chatter is WAY over my head. I agree that pics really add to threads.
Regardless, love TG and anything that keeps things running smoothly is great by me.
Thanks again guys!
Thanks again guys n gals.....I got everybody up to date!
Just added my 2000 cents worth! Thanks for a great site!
In a way, this is awesome to hear!!!!! So much traffic means that many more people are looking into traditional archery and into this web site...very cool!!! Thanks for keeping it up!
You are the best and you would allways have heavy traffic!!!!!
thanks Terry :clapper:

Is there a convert plan in place? Date? Will Tradgang look any different? Us O.F.'s don't deal well with change as I'm sure you're well aware. But just lead us gently and we'll follow along quietly..lol
Thanks Terry! and Rob and all the others that make this site.. well just "The Best" !!!!

If I remember what I was told I'll be going from 13 ram(?) to 80 ram(?) so the size of my herd will be growing I guess.
Thanks again Gang!!!

NO SIR, THANK YOU!
Sent mine just now. Meant to do it earlier and let it slip. I get more out of this site than I do all the magazines I subscribe to.
If becoming a contributing member is available to overseas users , how do I go about helping out . I would be lost without this site .

Terry, Rob, et al, I just this minute clicked on the "Big (little) Yellow Button". I have been so slack lately. Between my recent return to pleasure reading (and plain laziness), I know I don't seem to be around much. However, I am still "here" almost as often as ever - I just seem to have very little patience left with my (ever-slowing) two-finger typing, and it's attending errors/corections - :D So I don't post near as often (or lengthy :) )as I used to. However that does not in any way mean I feel less supportive about this grand site, traditional archery, or it's very special folks. Sorry I have been so (nearly) invisible and slack in support lately. I am proud to be counted as a current (and lifelong) contributor, good Lord willing.
Keep up the good work, Terry and Rob, and all of you supportive members - Bless you all, bless us all!
Sorry I had a moment(wrong thread)...LOL
