Just got home from south Florida and I am unpacking my gear and going through pictures to post.
Marty McMahon's lease is a very special place.
The three things I wanted to accomplish were
1.Do something good for St Judes
2. Hunt some new exciting place
3. Meet some good folks, make some new friends, and maybe shoot a hog
It was a great trip and I'll be sharing the details soon ! :campfire:
Can't wait! Anxious to hear more.
Its about time you started this Ken. Cant wait. I may have a little inside info but I think that you have some good stories to tell.
Ken was great meeting you. Glad you got home safe.
Looking forward to your story even though I was there.
Special thanks go out to the guys who made this adventure happen. First and foremost Marty McMahon who has the lease on this special place. Terry Green who joined the hunt and added much flavor to the event. Wayne " Biggie " Hoffman joined us adding a ton of fun. Les Heilakka who did recon and shared some of his stands, many thanks Les. Also joining the fun was Jerry Brumm of Great Northern Bowhunting Co and Marty's son n' law Daniel, fastest hog skinner in the US.
Sounds like a great bunch of guys. I can't wait to hear the stories.
Jack

My brother n law lives in West Palm Beach and Marty being the gracious host picked me up at Mark's front door. I flew down from Seattle,WA. Wednesday. The hunt started Thursday evening so Marty picked me up Thursday morning for the two hour drive down to the property. We met Terry at the entry gate. The hunt would start with me on stand at 3:30 :jumper:
;) :clapper:
A ton of fun??????
OOhhhh boy! Now ya did it Ken!!
That's just not right :biglaugh:
:bigsmyl: sorry Biggie .... Dale says hi

The roads in the south Florida wilderness are not like the roads where I come from. This is why you need the marsh buggy. And this is the dry season :scared:
Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been looking forward to this.

Biggie.... I thought he was being very polite. :bigsmyl:
I found out quickly, and Michael had warned me, these guys like to kid around. And Kevlar isn't a bad idea if you don't have thick skin. Being the new guy in camp I was on my best behavior. I was just there to enjoy the show !

I know the feeling Ken :)
Nice pix so far bud...looking forward to hearing "your side of the story" :clapper:
Been waiting for this one...I heard a good one was killed.
Man I want to hunt some swamp hogs.
my first game sighted from my stand
All the way driving down to the property and all the way driving to my stand Marty would tell me ... these hogs are tough, these hogs are tough, these hogs are tough.
I was in the stand at 3:30 and my first hog of the hunt came in at 4:30
The wind was right in my face and this old boy was chowing down, but facing right at me. After several minutes he finally turned and quartered away just so slightly. I came to full draw and shot him right where I was looking ... whack and off he ran. The arrow location looked good but there was way more arrow sticking out than I would have liked. THESE HOGS ARE TOUGH :scared:
I once heard a fella say " All I can do is put you on em
Biggie- you still have those frequent flier miles? I think he insulted you!!! You could go whip him for free!
Curt, Michael .... help, they are ganging up on me already :help:

Biggie needs to come to Beaufort first if he needs to whip somebody....... Just ask him about naturality!!!!! He will know what you mean.

Marty Marty Marty..... WE ALL KNOW... "ALL I CAN DO IS PUT YOU ON THEM"!!!!!!!!!!!! Please... Keep it up. We love it.
I see a couple of guys are stealing my frequent flyer story. :p
:campfire:
Well it gets dark about 6:30 and Marty showed up in the big marsh buggy about 6:15, I had called him and said I shot one .... He had his trusty hog dog Peanut along to pick up the trail.
With little day light left we, Peanut, started out in hot pursuit. Have I mentioned yet this swamp wilderness is brushy, really brushy in some places. Well this hog knew how to take you straight to the thickest of it ...
I had my first experience with the dreaded "wait a minute vine" ... a vine or vines that look like bushes but end up tying you up when you try and pass through them.
The blood trail wasn't too bad but took some looking and night had fallen on us. Peanut and Marty got into the really thick stuff and Marty had to unhook Peanut to get into some clearer going ... well Peanut took the initiative and off she went to find the hog, leaving us as they say " in the dark " ...
Marty had one of those flash lights that the Wensel boys sell and I'm here to tell you they are the real deal. I had a mini mag with new batteries and there was absolutely no comparison in brightness. Later that night big hearted Biggie promptly gave me one on hearing I was light challenged ... Thanks Biggie
We got Peanut back and got on the blood trail but she seemed less interested and after about 200 yards into the woods Marty and I decided to come back in the morning. Marty felt I might have gotten one lung and this could go on for a long time. :banghead:
This is going to be good! Nuther 300?
:campfire:
Terry, If you use a story 3 times it becomes yours- Biggie has aleady wore that one out!! It's his to keep! Can you get First Class on those free miles?
Elkken forgot to mention we found the arrow with about 10 inches of penentration. OR at least blood on the arrow.
BTW what is an elkken? Is that like a piggen or a hoggen? A piggin we will go- a piigin we wil go-sorry-I get carried away when I'm off my medicine.

Well, I'm in for the whole story. Just warmed up a bowl of Bear craklings and got out my, Joebuck, so ya wanta hunt turkey, dvd. looking forward to the rest of the story. DB
This is gonna be a good one! Looking forward to it. :campfire:
Joebuck's Turkey Huntin Dvd- now that's a whole nother thread!!! Get to see him in a week and a half tryin his luck on those ole Osceola's. I kept askin elkken if was hearin any gobble's (a turkin we will go, a tukin we will go-sorry- there I go again). He thought I was just curious- I was scoutin for Joebuck!!!
Marty, keep up the good work and best of luck to you and Joey. I know that, between the two of you, yall will be eating some fresh poultry. Sorry, got carried away with the turkey's. Let's get back on topic. How many hogs did ya shoot Elkken? (hung up and skint)Don
Did somebody say Osceola?
:D
This sounds like it will be an easy 300...
Actually Marty that was 12.75" of blood on my arrow ... I was shooting a 55# bow and some very good looking arrows made by Joe Lorenzen that I also won in the St Judes auction. My broadhead on this shot was a two blade magnus 125 grain for a total arrow weight of around 540. Seemed like enough to me, but I now know THESE HOGS ARE TOUGH.
Headed back to camp with my head hanging a bit low and thinking ... dang that shot looked good to me.
Every night we had a great camp fire and sat around telling stories of past hunts and the days events.
Marty was our chef and cooked some great meals. Les provided Starbucks French roast coffee for the morning eye opener and a big breakfast followed the morning hunt ... but thats getting ahead of myself.
It's always better when I stumble upon these threads AFTER the story has been completed... :)

Is that one of them "Snuggie's" that Biggie has on? I saw them advertised in an infomercial but they only had pink and blue... :D
Yeah...we know...you got frequent flyer miles. :jumper:
Is that one of them "Snuggie's" that Biggie has on? :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I was thinkin the same thing! Biggie in a snuggie! There is just something wrong with a blanket with arms in that group. I know it would get used as a straight jacket.
Please sirs, Some more!
Was that fire one of the "lighterwood" fires? They smell so good!
pete
This is going to be good with Biggie flying to SC then to washington.
Nothing better than a good camp fire at night.
Keep it coming.

After a short restless night of sleep it was time for a good cup of coffee ... and they had the perfect cup, for me or the hog ?
Did I mention Terry snores ... good thing for ear plugs
Time for bed, I'm still on Florida time I think
That's ok....you guys laugh at my snuggie. I was the only one that wasn't shivering!
Notice that no one is sitting near Terry and that "fine cigar"
Biggie and Snuggies in the same sentence without mentioning his grandkids-now that's funny!! Aren't those diapers?
Biggie, I've heard tell the only difference between a "fine" cigar and a terrible one is which end of it you're on. Least it helps keep the bugs away.
Great story and pics, thanks for sharing it with us.
Marty, hope to meet you up at Smokin Arras this year.
Biggie's snuggie?
That my friends is a King size 100% wool Blanket with a hole cut in the middle. Said he made the hole himself and did it before infomercials.
Ken had never heard of fat lighter before, he thought we were burning tires the 1st night.
So, I struck a match to a small stick of it to show him how easy it lit.
The next morning really gave him a lesson. Marty tossed paper plate on the coals from the night before and then sat a fat lighter stump right on top of it.
5 minutes later......
This ones for Marty.....the big bodied buck I saw just getting his horns back.....he dwarfed the 4 other bucks he was with by far....and had a woolly winter coat compared to the slick haired others.

That's what we call a gitback fire....felt pretty good too.
This is good, keep it coming...
I'm gonna get my story out of the way....and then enjoy the bantering.....
Not sure what's in the air, but the Solana Hunt, pig gig 1, bunny hunt and this hunt were all slow for what ever reason. I did not have a hog in bow range till the last morning. Ken saw way more hogs than I did, and I wouldn't have it any other way. St Judes fate worked out yet again and rightfully so.
I decided to make a change the last morning as I was headed to the Snake Hole where I killed two in one sit on last years hunt and I switched bows. I chose to hunt with Howard Hill hoping that would change my luck...and it did.
I finally had a hog come in range, an really nice stocky 150# black boar that was extremely nervous. He faced me for some 20 minutes before finally turning broadside and offering up a shot. I got to half draw and the gig was up. It was stone cold silent and all I can figure is he heard my arrow drag across the leather rest on my Howard Hill(that's why I use calf hair).
He made a large loop out of site for 15 minutes and then re-entered from a different direction and was feeding into range with the wind shifted a 180.(this was a big part of our problem the whole hunt). The gig was really up now, as he blistered out of there and never looked back.
Those big boars are really smart....sometimes I think smarter than a mature whitetail.
I truly had a blast as I always do with Marty. Many thanks to him for donating this hunt and allowing me to join in on the fun. It means a lot. Thanks to Ken for his donation also....I think he got his moneys worth as well as the kids. We all had a lot of fun.
Good to see Biggie, Les, and Jerry again for sure. They definitely added to the hunt. :campfire:
Awesome Stuff Guys!
Keep it coming
Ya this is shaping up very nicely!
I am still giggling about Biggie's Snuggie.... :clapper:
Does this snuggie make me look ...?
Put Peanut back on that trail.
Great story and great pics!
Well now it's the next day and we round up the posse to go look for my hog. Marty, me, Terry, Biggie, and Jerry ...
I had marked the last blood with two feet of survey tape tied at eye level. That should be easy to find :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:

I know just where that 'bigger' one is hanging out....hold on and I'll show ya....
Great stuff Ken. That is awesome.
Before it goes any furhter I need to make 2 Public apologies here!
One- from Ken's description- I didn't think he got great penentration and that's why I pulled off trail- turns out he did good. I just couldn't find it. When I let Peanut go- I shoulda stayed on her- we stayed on the blood that kinda got sparse. I'm sure she looked at the hog more than once. She got hit once by a not quite dead one and is a little skiddish. If'n it was a deer- well she LOVES them!
Two-Biggie and Jerry shoulda been in that photo! I told Biggie it was for the St. Judes Crew only- BIG mistake- he let me have it ALL weekend. Truth be known- he makes all critters look small and this was a nice hog-didn't wanna take away from it!!!!!
Now I probably need to apologize again- seems to be a pattern lately! Oh well.
Congrats again Ken on a good shot!
Marty would only let the "St Judes Guys" in the picture...
He's supposed to be my straight man. When I hollered out I found a piece of flesh, he's supposed to say "How big a piece?" That way I could say. "oh.......about 200#."
A good guide would have found it Thursday night...
Ken made a perfect shot...the fat just plugged up the hole a little.
Good lookin pig!

Congratulations Ken! Sounds like a great hunt, and a good time was had by all!
Terry....we set you up...that belongs to Marty
Jacob, you are enjoying that snuggie thing way too much........
Michael ol buddy, if you want to outbid ME, you'd best get off this computer and go drill out some teeth.

Rest assured I have made my last Snuggie comment, but I blame Terry for egg'n me on... :D :smileystooges:

my hunting gear was a 55# ACS LB, 65-70# tapered fir arrows made by Joe Lorenzen, and two blade heads.
All of Terry's stands had bow holders and pull up ropes. They were very comfortable ladder stands, set up well for my right hand shooting.
Most if not all sites had two stands to give you an alternative depending on wind direction. I have a new appreciation of how well a hog can smell you. I would compare them to a black bear any time.
"Terry's stands"???
Hmmmm... Marty might take offence to that one  :biglaugh:
Good stuff Ken...keep it coming bud :clapper:
OOOPS ....sorry Marty :knothead:
Congrats on a fine hog!! Mighty fine bunch you were hunting with.

Nice job! That is a great hog! Those hogs sure are tough and a great hit might only leave a sparse blood trail. Nothing like the relief that comes over you when you find downed game you thought you might have lost. Congrats again on a nice hog!

Les ...hard to tell, if you had the four together I could probably pick it out. I'd say it was next to the biggest one. It was not the one with the big floppy ears.
The morning hunts for Terry and I had plenty of critter activity but the hogs seemed to be sleeping in or off playing some place else.
We would get to our stands in the morning about 45 minutes before light. My favorite time of day in a stand is when the woods are waking up.
At the hint of first light the birds would start to chirp. Then the owls started hooting, the cranes started sqwauking, the crows cawing. And yes an occasional gobble gobble from an Osceola long beard. My first morning on stand I had a nice longbeard just a few yards from my stand and he gobbled when the feeded went off. I nearly jumped out of my skin.
T, What's up with your camera bud?
So tell me Ken, and be honest...When the feeder went off your first afternoon did you about fall out of you stand?? :scared:
Lots and lots of different birds. Blue jays, woodpeckers, cardinals, robins, cranes and herons. A bird watchers paradise.
This good look'n buck was at full alert as he had heard some hogs squeeling off in the distance. How about that pose for a good shot
I saw deer on most all stands and there was a very high percentage of bucks. I saw well over 25 deer and only saw 2 does.
The deer were not much smaller than our Washington whitetails in body size but looking at pictures at Marty's we have much better antler growth. This would be a fun spot to deer hunt I'm sure.
Ken wondering if that was the single. I those really large one sorted out and ready.
Curt .... I jumped more than just a little the first time, and some every time even when I was looking at my watch. That gobbler gave me the double whammy. I had to laugh at myself.
Les that is the single ....
Curt...those are pics from my Iphone...I have a few on my real camera I'll try and share tomorrow.

Only a hog can run through this stuff. Palmettos I think must be Spanish for swords. I tried crawling through some of these and I'll tell you about it tomorrow .... :scared: :scared:
To far away for me this guy would not come in closer then 25 yards. I really wanted to take this mohawk.

I was just thinking that. If youcan kill a raccoon you can kill that hog. I wish you would have got him is cool looking. I hate when the critters hang up just outside range.
Hogs? as my brother Pete said after his first trip here "There ain't no hogs in Florida" We were seeing deer and more deer.

I jump every year too! It is just so nice and relaxing waiting for the sun to come up in the Florida woods. Great pictures guys!
Seems raccoons are becoming my specialty I'm up to four now in the last month. Thought this recovery was a slam dunk until I found myself in a palmetto patch combined with thorns, briars and spiders.

Any other pics of the swamp buggy - from the ground closer up maybe.

Jer I'll look through my pics but I think thats it for mine ... if you go back to Marty's thread " Guru Scores " you might find a better one, Curt took alot of great pictures.
As far as Racoons go I think you could shoot enough in a day to make Biggie a new snuggie, they were every where
(http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu113/elkken/St%20Judes%20Hog%20hunt/P1010061.jpg)
Jer here is just the corner of it but you can see how high it goes, Biggie is a tall guy
I don't think Terry was reading that sign in the last picture ... he already has a GOOD Woman
Saw lots of Armadillos
My second night hunt was hampered by swirling winds and spooky deer. I had three deer come in first, feeding about five minutes and then all hell broke lose and they spooked. The wind was blowing across me but every once in a while it would swap right to the feeder. :banghead:
The deer drifted back, then would spook, then a few new deer showed up and they would feed nervously and then spook.
About 5:30 I had a really nice hog coming in from behind and to the right of me but he stopped at the 3 o'clock position and turned around and walked away after standing there for several minutes. He, or one looking the same, came back thirty minutes later under me and to the left. He was very cautious and stopped every few steps. Finally he went to the corn and nervously started feeding. He was there several minutes,a few deer came in from the right and away from me. As I'm getting ready to take a shot the deer spooked and so did my hog.
Not sure if it was the wind or my movement but off they went and the hog had enough excitement for one evening and did not return. The deer on the other hand came right back and stayed until Marty came to pick me up.
Hey Les ... how about adding pics of your four big guys and I'll tell of my last night stand hunt.

elkken,
Sure sounds like you had a great time. To add just a little, here are some buggy shots that I have from visits down there.
Here in the background you see the start of a hunt buggy. Notice the crinkle in the front fender. THe first step...
this is often how they start out, Little nip and little tuck on the old farm pickup and them big tires seem to fit.

Then over time a slow miracle occurs. And VOILA

Now the question, How many guys does it take to change a fuel pump on a hunt buggy in the middle of the road? answer 4. Who is the smart one? Marty... why? Not because he is on top of the buggy letting us 4 big dumb guys do the work. HE had the spare fuel pump with him. HE is always prepared!

When I got back from the morning hunt Les had his computer out and was showing us some hog pictures and video. BIG hog pictures :scared: :scared:
He and Marty talked and it was decided that if the wind was right that would be my last evening stand. Scroll back a bit and you will see some of Les's pictures
Needless to say I was praying for a good wind. Those are some nice hogs.
At hunt time the wind was marginal but ok and when putting me in the stand Marty said if the wind swaps and stays that way go ahead and get out of the stand and circle out to your left toward the water and wait for them to come in and then sneek on in for a shot.
The wind blew about every direction it could but never went right at the feeder. Most feeders go off at 4:30, so at 4:30 I'm looking at my watch bracing for the noise to scare me again.
 4:35 no feeder yet, 4:40 no feeder yet, 4:45 Hog coming in from the front right !! Straight down the edge of the Palmettos coming right at me.... the feeded goes off :scared: :scared:
At 4:50 the hog is feeding nicely and getting closer  Then with out warning he bolts and runs away like his hair is on fire. I get out my spray bottle of white stuff and give it a squirt ... right down to the feeder :(
I sat there for about five minutes thinking ... now what should I do ????? The wind stayed pretty steady to the feeder, so I hooked up my bow and lowered it down, I was going to head out to my left as Marty had instructed. Just as I started to get down I felt the wind shift AGAIN ... it was now blowing right to left quartering behind me. And it stayed that way, kinda
At 6:00 I heard some rustling behind and to my right, not loud just some noise. It kept coming now directly to my right, now going past me and then out popped a BIG black hog, then another and another and another. The four BIG hogs Les had video of .... my heart was pounding.
Per Marty .... be patient, be patient
Well I let those BIG hogs settle in and feed away until they had all of the far away corn gone, then they headed my way. I'm still being patient waiting for a good shot, they had been facing me for most of the time. When they got a bit closer two of them turned and the hog on the right was perfectly broadside. I had run out of patience. I drew back, aimed and let'r fly. WHACK ... right in the shield on the wrong side of the crease ... almost no penetration !!
Off they ran right back into the palmettos
I can hear Marty's voice ...THOSE HOGS ARE TOUGH
I can hear Marty's voice ... All I can do is put you on em ....
I can hear my voice ... %^&**&&^%$$$#%&^&
I could hear the foursome crashing through the palmettos and on into the woods beyond. I climbed down, looked for blood just in case my eyes had deceived me on the penetration. Got down on my hands and knees and carefully started crawling into the Palmettos to look for my arrow. Not 20 yards in there it was, broken off just behind the Stos broadhead, no blood at all.
THOSE HOGS ARE TOUGH ....
It was a 19 yard shot and I just missed it. I had prepared for the hunt shooting at a small bear target I have and the yardage from my stand to the bear is 18 yards and I have no excuses on this one.
What an exciting evening this had been. Many thanks to Les for sharing his great spot. Now the walk of shame when Marty comes to get me.
Good Stuff Ken!!!
Hopefully I'll get time to see what pics are on my camera soon.

Not again :goldtooth: :biglaugh:
That's a great story Ken :notworthy:
Love these Hog hunting tales and pics. We're headed to Ray's next week for our own hog hunting adventure.
Thanks Curt ... I don't have to tell you how special that place is .... but again it is special
If any of you have read The Witchery of Archery by Maurice Thompson, Martys lease is in that region of south Florida. Fish Eating Creek is just down the road. I cannot imagine getting around that country without the Marsh Buggy. Maurice and Will Thompson roamed the area back in the 1870's. I have retrieved my copy from the book rack and plan on reading it again soon.
I still have some pictures to post so we are not done yet ....

You'll like them even better when your taking them in person .... get ready for a good time
you'll get to see some horn growth when your there, I just saw fuzz but alot of bucks.
Man that gator looks huge! We kept looking for him in a spot where Marty said he was, but he never showed himself.....Very cool!
Great story and Pics everyone!!!!! Congratulations Ken....Thanks Marty for the great St. Judes Donation....Don and Skyler
Curt ... the only gator we saw on the lease was a little guy ...this pic is with Marty on the drive back to West Palm. We saw about twenty or more from the truck ...
Think of the quivers that thing would make!
Ok guys- The phone pics are cute- I was calling all the back ups I could- I needed someone who could close the deal on a shot!!!!! Biggie showed up, but he and I were hosting, not hunting. Thanks for saving the hogs for us!
Now that's cold Marty! A guy better have hide as tough as the hogs to hang around here.
Love the pic's and stories...tnx for sharing.
Wonderful stories.
I'm thinkin' if Marty wasn't spending all that time on the phone, he'd have to be somewhere other than Paradise running stuff instead of putting guys on pigs...sometimes those phones are a GOOD thing
I like it how you guys got that famous producer guy with the colorful name in the buggy shot.
I think Marty was calling a guy who could put me on a hog... fortunately Les was right in camp :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
OOOOPS ...I almost forgot
Whats the difference between closer and loser ...

Wow Ha Ha
All kidding aside .... Marty is the Man
I had a wonderful time with the group on the Okeechobee St Judes hog hunt and I will cherish the memories forever.
Thanks Marty ..... I really appreciate what you did for me and the kids at St Judes
great stuff guys - tough one on the big hog ken....love the buggy
jer bear
Well-done, all!
Marty really does get tore up when guys aren't getting the shot opp's that "he thinks" they should be!
He was sending texts all weekend worrying if everyone was having a good time...he should know better than to worry...because just being in camp is a great time....and Ken had killed a hog on the first night...but he still worried...that's just the kind of guy Marty is!
We all like to bug Marty about the "phone thing", all in good fun, and he knows that. But in reality Marty is an extremely busy guy with his business and family. He does very well handling all he has on his plate :notworthy:
We luv ya brother :campfire:
BTW...I need your address...
It's all in good fun Guru!! I do want people to see game! I love to have fun- BUT I do want my guests to see game and have opportunities! It puts alot of pressure on me! Especially someone like Ken who gave such an astonishing amonut to St. Judes Hospital to come hunt hogs with me. That's what this was all about. Kudo's to Ken for his generosity to the kids.
Marty helping you and the Kids is always a pleasure.
Well done hope you can do it again next year.
See ya March 6
Really enjoyed following this story. Very generous Marty and Ken-helping the kids of St. Judes through traditional bowhunting!
Great hunt Ken, Marty and those involved. Congrats on the hog Ken!! Very well done
I know Marty really puts his heart into this hunt and he wanted me to have the best hunt possible. Well I've been hunting a long time and have been lucky enough to hunt many beautiful and interesting places. Marty's hunt is as good as any of them hands down.
My days of wanting to kill something every time I step into the woods are over. I just want to be in the woods, seeing game and enjoying the sights and sounds is just icing on the cake.
When I was in business and we finished an important event we would do a round table, quick discussion, to highlight what we learned and made a list of EBI's ( even better if's )
What I learned on this hunt was ....
HOGS ARE TOUGH
Hogs can smell really good
Trad archers are good people
Marty is the supreme host
South Florida can be beautiful
Biggie really is big
What were the EBI's ....
Only that I wish I could have stayed longer
Thanks again Marty ...
Good stuff Ken :campfire:
This has been a great read, thanks for taking us along.
Jack
Great pictures and story. I was down hog hunting in Florida this January and this thread brought back all the great memories.
Marty and I have been hunting pards for nearly 20 years. We've hunted several states and 3 continents together. I've never seen him as torn up about a hunt before. Ken killed a beautiful boar the 1st night. I thought the pressure was off but not Marty...he worried all weekend about the unusual swirling winds.
He wanted Ken to shoot everytime he sat! He was so shook up he had ME cooking breakfast!! That's bad folks cause when I fry 3 lbs of bacon, only 1 pound ever gets to the breakfast table -)
Thought we were a little light on the bacon that morning.
That's bad folks cause when I fry 3 lbs of bacon, only 1 pound ever gets to the breakfast table -)
Biggie your a natural born legend! Thanks for the "GRINS"-Bill
Biggie didn't mention that they also cooked up a big platter of awsome sausages and a mound of eggs to make up for the bacon shrinkage .... the food was super and Marty's BBQ New Yorks on steak night where done to perfection... this is a five star camp, not hot dogs and beans.
And biscuits! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm
Don't exactly know why but I am still grinning like I was there-Great stuff!
What a great thread. Where else can your read drama, stand-up comedy, and hone your hunting skills all at once
and butter and jammmmmmmmmmmmmm
Just a few more views of the beauty of Marty's lease.....

Great stories and pic's guys thanks for sharing...
Can I post a kidney in the classifieds? Thats the only way I'll be able to bid with Ken, Sunny Hill etc....and I think it would be worth it just to spend time with these guys...FS RH or LH Heavily Used Kidney...you pay so I can go play....can e-mail pic's.
Hey buddy, Is that second-to-last pic taken from Les' "palmetto stand"?
Looks awful familiar....
Good eyes Curt.
