Title: Archery practice as a spectator sport
Post by: portugeejn on February 22, 2010, 11:43:00 PM
The sun was out and I had the day off, so went out for a little target practice and had an unexpected audience.  There are three deer watching what is going on (hint-one is behind the brush pile looking over the top).

pretty cool Ron. You should have pretended to mow the yard and "stalked" 'em.

Looks like they are trying to figure out if they should be worried come fall.

Nothing like training the deer before season. Makes the hunting so much easier

You didn't show your groups, but is that deer on the right LAUGHING?!?!     :saywhat:

Seriously, good looking form in your shooting.  I think those same deer may be in trouble, come Fall!

I wish the log home was mine, but it belongs to a friend (actually the person who got me started in traditional archery!).  It is a really great spot to practice that he graciously shares and allows me to come out and practice.

Either the deer weren't worried after seeing your shooting OR they are used to seeing the arrows going the other way!   :goldtooth:   They weren't by the target so I would guess it is the second reason! Sorry Ron, I couldn't help myself. That is the best archery range I've seen.

I was shooting at a Glendale buck, so they figured they were safe because they didn't have any antlers!   :biglaugh:

I am surprised they were just hanging out, as my friend saw a cougar in his yard not too long ago checking out the deer target.

I see why you need such a tall fence!
