Brian Wessel called me this week-end to advise that my Tall Tines TD Recurve is being shipped.
All I can say is that I am thrilled with the way it turned out, based on this snapshot that Brian just sent. I will try to get a few more photos once the bow arrives, as well as a review.
Brian is tops and his business is really starting to explode, now that the WORD is out!
This bow features Brian's first wine-colored Cocobolo Actionwood handle, and some nasty looking bucote veneered limbs. My Lefty is 58" 51@28".

Brian is the real deal for sure, he reminds me of a young Paul Schafer, which i got to spend time with at Pauls home back in 1986.Great looking bow congrats.
Well, that Cocobolo Dymondwood looks as good as my real one. I'm waiting for TallTines #3 right now. This one is going to be a beater...
I shot one of those beautys when I was in AL last month on a deer hunt and man o' man they will shoot. Brian has a target on him that I can't pull off, I can't wait to order one soon.
Do you think there is any financial assistance for us poor folk out west? Best of luck to Brian and his fantastic bows.
Erik
Man, I really love the shape of the riser and grip!
Brian sure makes a great looking and performing bow :notworthy:
Can't wait to get mine. Shot his bow at the Kzoo show and it shot awesome. The thing that impressed me the most was how it feels in your hand. Very natural and shoots where your looking. Mine can't get here soon enough. :clapper: :jumper:
Brian is a new bowyer that is finding his balance between family and a passion for bowhunting. I wish him the best.
Have Mercy!
That thing is a real beauty! If it shoots half as good as it looks man you got it made.
Good Luck!
I freakin love red bows! Great looking bow and anxious to hear the review :)
Man thats a sharp bow if Brian starts making a 54" or 56" bow I will have to have one myself!
A4C,
TallTines #1 and #2, they are a much deeper and darker red now that the Cocobolo is aging:

Steel,
You may want to give him a call. I heard some talk of a 56" in the works...
Too bad I've suspended myself from bow buying for a while...got on a longbow kick and ordered 2 within a month :scared: When I'm looking for a new curve TallTines will be the first place I look :)
Craig
Nice lookin' bows!!! More pics anyone???
Yes guys we need to see the new arrivals.
You guys are really making the wait hard! I placed my order a month ago at Kzoo. A few more months and Brian should be calling me....Not that I am counting or anything!! :help:
Beauty
I haven't got around to taking pictures of the new set of twins together, but I do have a couple of my righthander I picked up at Kalamazoo. Bocote riser and Myrtle limbs.
For the record...this bow is the BEST bow I have ever owned and there is nothing I could think of to improve on it. It is 52# @ 29 1/2" and everytime I shoot it, I look at that and shake my head. It is a high performance bow for sure!

Steve,is it a 58"or 60"?
All I can say is........ WOW,WOW,WOW.
Felix,
All the bows we've gotten from Brian have been 60s. I'm just a middle of the road kinda' guy ;)
Same we'll be mine, also if i think the 58' can still fit most guys but I like the proportions on the 60".
The 58" bow I shot at Kzoo was awesome. It really suprised me how smooth is was being a 58" 3 piece bow. I had a hard time choosing a 58 or 60 inch.
I love 58"bows also if I draw 29",my present choice is been based on the look and the proportions since I never put my eyes on a real one.
Felix, I would guess with your 29" draw a 60" would be the better choice. I only draw 28" and really liked the 58 and 60 inch bows I shot.
Tim,I don't know why but I don't have problem also with very short bows like 50-52".
Steve - Is he really making a 56"...Does that mean he's building a shorter riser?
I am almost certain he was doing a new limb. He's out of touch till next week; I'll double check then.
Steve,
I know in my recent discussions with Brian that he was going to be offering additional options, but I just can't recall exactly what he told me. Once he gets back from the Pig Gig, I am sure he will chime in here.
Thanks for all the nice compliments everyone. I am really looking forward to this bow!
Barry,
The one option that I am sure of is he has grip checkering now. I'm thinking my one piece will have a checkered grip. I have heard there have been a couple of porkers put out of their misery so far this week and I think there is a TT in the mix on that. I know he has been working on a new shorter limb, just can't remember if it is ready.
Enjoy that new bow!
Very NICE Barry! Let us know how it handles and shoots.
Tell me more about the one piece Steve?
wow i love those limbs
Mac,
Not much to tell yet. They are in the works along with a 1 pc longbow and a 3 pc longbow. All I know is I'm getting the first one piece recurve... :D
Steve- If you want that bow-rack back you left at Comptons, let me know. I sounds like you plan to fill it with TallTines!!!!
Barry: Congratulatios and now when do we get a bow report and how long is the wait time for a bow of that caliber?
Nice looking bows!!
Dean,
Brian sent me the photo before leaving to go on the Pig Gig, I should have it in a few days.
Give Brian a call, I think the wait time will be 2-3 months, but he can advise for sure.
Hey guys. I've read through this and seen some questions so I'll do my best to answer what I can.
I have recently built a new limb for the 58" bows that can be used on my 16" riser. This way you can get limbs in A, B, or C length (A=58") and have a 58, 60, or 62" bow. My 18" riser will give you a 60, 62, or 64" bow. I'm toying with the idea of a 56", but at this point the 3 pc. LB and 1 piece curve are first in line.
As for build time. Initially last fall I was not anticipating the response that I got and was off somewhat with my build time. Although I've been building for a long time, taking orders full time was somewhat of an eye opener for me. It was tough somedays when I would get an order at 9 am and by 5 pm I was filling out a form for the 6th or 7th order of the DAY. So, several days of that left me scrambling to answer some of those build time questions. Getting ready for Kzoo put me back a bit too. Anyway, that is a quick look at how this has developed and what has led to a longer than expected build time for some of you. I am currently working on Nov. orders so we are looking at about 4 months right now. Within the next month that should drop down some as Nov. was the sunami month of orders. Feel free to pm me with any questions.
Did I mention the new chocolate myrtle that I have in? :)
No Brian you didn't,post some pics on your site as well of some new bows you are going to deliver;when you have time to breath!!!!LOL

Chocolate Myrtle now that sounds awesome!!
That wood pops!!! Really nice combination, congratulations!!
