Howdy Trad Gang,
I asked John at Tusker to do a little video for us and he came through in spades. Here he briefly demonstrates his sharpening method, then shoots some bull shoulders for your amusement.

I am a huge fan of the Tuskers, they're tough, take a simply wicked sharp edge and offer tremendous value. What's not to like?
We've got even more Tuskers in stock than ever, stay tuned for a new web page. In the meantime you can peruse our selection here:
Tusker Broadheads at Braveheart Archery (http://www.braveheartarchery.us/new_page_2.htm)
Don't see the Tusker you're looking for? PM me we may have it already.
Thanks! Tim @ Braveheart
:clapper: Very Entertaining Tim.
Very cool demo!
Benjy
Tim, I've been looking for a place to get more of these! I bought some Aztecs and Concords back about 5 or 6 years ago and I really like the Aztecs. I wish they would make the Aztec or Delta with a 4 blade option with a replacable bleeder. Thanks for sharing the video. Do you have the glue-on Aztecs or Delta's? You'll be hearing from me in a few weeks after I get moved and settled in to my new place.
thanks,
Ken
Ken, we have both. They should be on the website by the time you're settled but if not just PM me.
Great broadheads very tough.
Aw shoot. I've had my heart set on Grizzly's but man those 190 gr. Concords are tempting me. They look like they sharpen waaaaaaaaay easier than the grizz. And they're cheaper!
That is an awesome Demo.
Bought (2) dozen Azteks from John awhile back. Regretful I didn't get 6 dozen. They're well made.
Never seen BH's razor sharpened so fast & never with a file. I sharpen surgical instruments. Huge lesson!
The bear I killed last spring really didn't like those Tuskers. I'm sure you've seen the video! Thanks for the demo!!!
Here's Ryans video of his awesome bear. Taken with a single bevel Tusker Concorde I believe.

Congratulations again Ryan!
The Aztecs I got back then didn't come with a pre-ground angle, I just took a file to them, hit them with a stone a few times and then a little leather and they were the easiest to sharpen heads I've ever had. They were also the sharpest I've personally ever gotten a head and the one that I ran through a hog still popped the hair off my arm afterwards. Great broadheads and very low cost for the quality!! The only thing that could improve them is a 4 blade/replaceable bleeder option.
cool !!! love Tusker b'heads . i shot a large pig three years ago , hitting him high and taking out his spine . shooting from above , the shaft full penetrated the large hog , killing him very quickly . what i couldn't get over was after doing such damage to a spinal column , upon retrieval the broadhead was still absolutely shaving sharp. other
A great product regardless of how affordable they are compared to " top end " [ no pun intended ] broadheads .
Ben
Man that looks like a great and simple set up!
Even I might be able to handle this sharpening method...just got to keep the angle.
Yes it was a single bevel Concord. I think I NEED some Aztecs now....at least they won't cost me much $$$. Gotta love the prices!!
got a 6 pack from tim awhile back - really like 'em, ordering out a concorde 190 lw 12 pack as soon as they're in stock.
That double bevel Aztec penetrated every bit as well, and even in the thick part of the shoulder.
How about that. Those have caught my eye 8^).
The tusker does look impressive...single bevel or double. I wonder if the double bevel is any better than a Zwickey double, which is really good as well.
They do look like great broadheads.
I would love to see some glue on heads that were about 4 inches long and 350 grains.
I have some Aztec's that are ready for elk this Fall! Great video!!
Great video. I wish Tusker would make a 145 grain glue on Concorde.
My bad, we have the left bevel glue on 190's in stock and I failed to update the web page.
I've never met a Tusker I didn't like, but I'd have to say my favorites are the Aztec and Concorde, although the Delta is on a bunch of my arrows as well.
A lot of the double bevel Tuskers come with needle points, for those that prefer that, but I'd personally recommend you modify those to a small tanto tip to get the most out of your heads.
Nice video Tim. Very impressed with Tuskers.
Very informative, might have to pick a few up and give them a try.
Entertaining video. Looks like a fun way to spend and afternoon when nothing is in season.
Enjoyed the video very much. Thanks for sharing.
gary
thanks for the video! I will have to try those out soon
Does the Aztec come as a glue on?
Aztecs, Mine came with an adapter you can remove. W/O adapter they're 175gr.
I've purchased both the Concorde and the Aztec Glue on. The first dozen ordered were directly from Australia a few years back. When I found they were available in the States, my business was forwarded to Tim. Excellent service, Fairest shipping rates in the business, a darn good company to do business with.
I'm sold on Tuskers and Braveheart Archery.
I just only posted this quote earlier and stand by it 100%.
Are the they the best 2 blade broadhead available in todays hitech market? Probably not.
Are they the best 2 blade broadhead value for the money in todays hitech market?
No doubt in my mind. A firm believer in value, you can call me conservativefred.
George, the Aztecs are also available as a glue on and weigh in at 175 grains. We don't have them on the site yet (working on it) but we have some in stock if you need them. We also have glue on 125 Javelins, 100 grain Spirits (5/16") and 160 grain Deltas available if anyone is interested. All should be on the site very soon.
Bowferd, thank you for your support. We strive to do folks right and comments like yours help us know we're on track. :jumper:
I have the Delta's...took a doe and turkey with them this fall. Good BH's
I should add, it was also mentioned older Tuskers did not have a grind. Nowadays they do have a grind, in fact the grind is much better than it originally was when introduced. Just so there's no confusion though, Tuskers are definitely "sharpen yourself" heads as most "trad" heads are.
kevgsp, I also took a doe this last fall with a wicked sharp Delta, she made it about 50 yards. Simply good, no nonsense heads.
Great video! These look like really nice broadheads.
Hmm....I am shore liking them Javelins.
I have been using Tuskers for several years now since I first reviewed them. For the guy that isn't afraid to sharpen them they are as tough as you can find. I have not ruined one yet, and every year there is always a Tusker in my quiver.
Often I am using some expensive heads, that I realy like a lot, and don't want to shoot a ruffy or rabbit with because of the dirt, gravel, or high probability of loosing a costly broadhead. Tuskers are great for this. I shot my first Elk with an Aztec, and a 125 gr steel adapter. It burried to the hilt in a neck bone, and came out in perfect shape. They have accounted for several coyotes, birds and rabbits, and deer. I don't have any reservations saying that the Tusker is a tough, easy to sharpen, and dependable broadhead. For the wood arrows on self bows I like the smaller Spirit and Javelina on 5/16 Ramin shafts, and for the other bows I like an Aztec with a 100 or 125 steel adapter. My Flu Flu arrows always have an Aztec and a steel adapter. These see lots of shots hitting the dirt and have always been usable after I dig them out.
They stand up to abuse, fly great, sharpen easy, hold an edge and are dependable. Top it off with very affordable.
Before they came pre gorund/sharpened, they were a super bargain, but didn't sell well. I never understood why, when we constantly read how everyone loved to sharpen their heads, and did so with such enthusiasm.
I still think they are a bargain, for the quality and durability we get.
Pete
The Aztec is one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite as well.
Here's an Aztec versus a boars skull, very hard bone here.

That head looks like it could be used again if you were so inclined. Not bad for a broadhead that costs under $4!
i like the long, lean, penetrating looks of the concorde, that it doesn't have a needle point, and that its heavier thickness is .050" as opposed to the .035" for all the other tusker heads.

Great looking broadhead and real good value!! Braveheart is a great company and super fast service!
I just want to know which state do you think I have the best chance of drawing a bull shoulder tag?
Coaster500, as far as I know they are "over the counter" everywhere beef is eaten. :bigsmyl:
We actually talked about using Aussie Buff shoulders but those aren't exactly "readily available" even in Oz. :help:
Like Rob mentioned, the Concorde is .050 in thickness and the toughest Tusker of all, not that the others are lacking as you can see by the above pic and John's bull shoulder demonstration.
Im with Rob that concord with three to one single bevel tonto point is one smart looking head. I like the idea of a 300gr head for FOC on woodies but I use the glue on. Great looking head like the proven ones I use now, but I wounldnt hesitate to try a Tusker from the looks of it.
Slowbow I have one of the center drilling jigs I got from you. I have found using poplar shafts and adding 100gr brass with my 190 points/broadheads that I am getting 300gr up front and upped my FOC. Thanks for a great product I may have to add some of those left bevel concord glue on to my quiver this season.
I just ordered some of the Aztec 200 screw in's, will use these for my Colorado Elk hunt this year.
