I had a 14in ACS riser 64in bow that i sold because i ordered it off there website and it really wasnt what i wanted.
Im going to order there 16in riser and have Bob Morrison put some copperhead skins on it.
Has anyone went from the 14in riser to the 16in riser and if so please tell me what you like about the longer riser.
Im thinking with my 30in draw if i go to the 16in riser i would probably have to shoot a 66in bow which im a little concerned about because i would not just be shooting targets but would hunt with it also.
I have never hunted with a 66in bow so i do have some concerns about doing so even though i know a lot of people hunt with bows that are even longer.
All of my hunting is done from a lock-on so i wouldn't think it would be a problem but would still like some feedback from you guys hunting with the ACS 16in riser.

Even if you never shot there 14in riser i would still like to know how you like the 16in riser.

Like you, I went from the 14 to the 16, and my two ACS's are 66" LOA. I draw 29 1/2, but I wanted the longer riser for the taller sight window since I shoot with a vertical bow position. I love the 16 and I don't even notice the extra two inches of length. But, I'm primarily an on-the-ground elk hunter and don't have much experience in tree stands. If you haven't already, you might ask A&H about whether there would be any performance degradation by putting skins on. I would hate to compromise the extraordinary capability of the ACS when that's really what you're paying for. Good luck--I don't think you can go wrong with the 16!
I have talked to the guys at A@H several times but theres nothing better than getting feedback from guys who are actually hunting with the bow.
As for the skins, i really dont care if i lose a little bit of speed because i just love skins on a bow, all my bows are skinned.
I've had 14" inch aluminum and wood risers. They were too small for my hands. Bought a 16" RC riser and now I have two. They fit my big hands better. I too have a long draw at almost 31". I shoot 64" limbs on a 16" riser and makes it 66" long. I have no problem shooting it from the ground or out of treestand. Does make it a little tight in a Double Bull though. I probably shoot this 16" RC riser the best out of all the other risers I have shot. It is my go to bow for 3D and bowhunting.

Im sure i will like the bigger window and 2 more inches of bow shouldn't make that much difference.
I just cant see myself not owning a ACS because they are a great bow and i have yet to find one that shoots as fast or is smoother on the draw.
I'm with you Joe. I actually have 3 ACS's now. My wife started shooting my lightweight one. She prefers the 14", the 16" RC was too big for her small hands. I always get the idea that another bow will shoot better than the ACS but it never seems to happen.
I had the 14 st riser and it shot well, but tore my arm all to pieces. I got the 16 low wrist grip and it was much better.
Hey Joe I just talked to Larry friday about the same thing like you I also have a 30 inch draw and they said I would have no problem with a set of 62 inch limbs and the 16 inch riser for a total length of a 64 inch bow just some thing to think about.Philip

Man that sounds great because i really wanted to stay at 64in.
Joe - I have a 16" riser with 62" limbs and pull 30" and love it. If you go any shorter you will give up quite a bit in performance. Kim
I just got a 16" riser from Bonecracker and I really do like it.I draw 29" and am shooting 58" limbs on it, waiting for a set of 60" limbs which are in the mail right now.
With the smaller sight window, the top of the riser would cover my intended target and I just couldn't get used to it.
As to the skins, I have put them on both of the sets of limbs that I have, chronographing before and after and there was no difference. These A&H's really do perform!
