Long story short, a couple of TG members suggested to me that I could try altering how I set my bow arm when I draw and see if that would take my draw length down 1/2" or so. Soooo, this morning I'm out shooting with my kids, using 42-48# bows, trying a few changes, getting some decent results. We knock off for lunch, I get on the honey do list for a while, then at 3 I think to myself, "Hey, I haven't shot my Frederick longbow in a while, I'll try that". I draw this bow to 56# pretty consistently. Three shots to warm up, need a stiffer arrow. 200 grain tips on 29" 400 spine Beman ICS Hunters, shooting at the "S" in the word "Seed". Shot at 55 feet. Woo Hoo!

hmm, gonna miss that arrow now arent you :clapper:
Looks like ya got it pretty tuned to me...
Funny thing is that I had these arrows listed up for sale last week and could not get a nibble on them!
You have to love it when you loose $12 at a shot.
Now you've done, you gone and ruined an arrow and I can tell by your post you'll most likely not remove the one you shot that ruined it.
That will make for a short dozen of those..lol
Congratulations!! Thanks for sharing with us.
God bless,Mudd
Hmm, looks like instead of selling those, you may need to go get some more.
ballen28115, how did you change how you set your bow arm when you draw? Just curious if it will help others. Thanks.
Cool!
can't wait to loose $12 a shot! :clapper:
I came close to locking my elbow before, just cocked it a teeeeny bit.
:notworthy: :clapper: Great shooting!
Claudia
Very expensive AD you just ruined there. Good shootin.
Look at that green grass...by the way nice shot.
Might want to change your form back, that's gonna get real expensive if you keep shooting like that! :clapper:
 :clapper:
Nice work!!!
Fantastic shooting!!!!!!!!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Sweet
nice
Sure as L hit him right in the S alright. Good shooting.
Nothing better than a RH to let you know that the change you made was a good one, congrats!
That third arrow look pretty respectable too. :clapper:
"Robin Hoods" are fun, but they can get expensive.
Good thing we don't do'em all the time.
Nice shot.
This Fall don't change a thing to that routine! Get to your stand and start out shooting arrows with 40# bows, then knock off for lunch, then work off a few honey dos, and then at 3:00 switch to 56# longbow, and go back to stand. See the "S" in the word "Seed" on that buck's side and amazing things are about to happen ...
Congratulations on a fine shot.
:clapper:
GREAT SHOT! Hope i can do that one day. Do you shoot instinctive?
we need a peta for arrows
CONGRATS on Changing Your Form and seeing the Advantage even a Small Change can Be!! :archer:
SAAAWEEET!Now Robinhood your interview and you will be on cloud 9.
Good luck

Nomad to Hunt, yes, I shoot instinctive. Eric, thanks for the kind words, can't wait until Friday!
NOW THAT SHOOTING!!!!!!
Nice!!!
Sweet! Now go put an arrow in the one that penetrated the first ^^
Great shooting, Bert! Strange, that bow never shot like that for me :) :archer2:
Congratulations, it is certainly a good feeling with form is followed by a positive result. The first one or two Robinhoods are cool but after that I have to aim at different spots. I hate losing or destroying an arrow.
You know the all the really good archers never get a Robin Hood because they know where each arrow is going to land when they loose it. As you might guess I have never had one. ... Good shooting.
stop shooting so good or you will be BROKE MAAAAAANNNNNN
:biglaugh:
Never done it myself, but looks like a love/hate type of thing. You've created a new "trophy" for the man cave. Nice shooting.
