Title: Hotel room bow work
Post by: ballen28115 on February 19, 2010, 04:30:00 PM
I've been on the road a lot since the first of the year, been staying mostly in one of the towns outside Raleigh, NC.  This week I refinished two old Herter's kids bows with wipe on poly and a good 3M rubbing compound treatment on the glass, then I sanded down an Osage bow I have been working on.

Lessons learned:
1) Lighting in hotel rooms is usually not that great, but the bathrooms are usually well lit.  Two little kids bows are easily hung from the shower rod.

2) Wipe on poly doesn't stink up a room really bad.

3) Osage dust goes everywhere, so keep your laptop closed and your good clothes in the closet with the door shut.

Sounds like a great way to keep busy when on the road.

Hate to be the maid!! Careful what you inhale overnight. Those rooms have enough chemicals in them already.

Good on you.  The only thing I do with bows in hotel rooms is shoot their phone books...
