Title: Padding out the riser
Post by: Zbearclaw on February 14, 2010, 03:13:00 PM
Is it the violation I seem to think it is.

My draw has lengthened and made my arrows weak, so I padded out the rest and dropped broadhead weight.  They fly like darts and have destroyed both big game animals i have released arrows at, BUT I feel like I am using a bandaid on my Black Widow.

I ordered some CE 350 as the 250 I am shooting now occasionally allows my finger to tap the back of my broadhead.

I am not going to buy different weight heads, each pack is about what it costs for me to go to my hunting area and I am maximizing my hunting time this year in a guile attempt to get all five deer species in the same season.

So, should I leave well enough alone, or man up and get a shaft that fits my bow without having to pad it out, and shoot this beautiful 60" Black Widow PSAII the way it was meant to be?

FYI my bow is #55 @ 27" but I am drawing to about 28 3/4" to front of riser.

Current arrows are CE 250 29" with 5" feathers standard nocks/ inserts and 175gr heads.

Thanks
Feel free to holler at me, I can take it...
