... at an animal! When was the last shot you took at an animal while hunting, did ya miss it or kill it, ya gotta pic, let's see it!
My last shot was this past monday and I missed a bunch of Pheasants! Good fun!
The last two shots I took were on 28-Dec-09. Missed the same cottontail twice. First shot deflected off a bush and the second was a plain crummy shot. Rabbit was sitting there broadside about 15 yards away and I simply made a crappy shot.
Mine was 2008 last friday of archery my first kill traditional. A button buck hit him a little far back got one lung gave him an hour while I waited for my son,he went about 50 yards wow what a rush. 2009 was very slow nothing whith in 50 yards.
Where are your pics Joe. Even if you did not kill them you have THE HUNT to remember.

Missed a doe sometime around Halloween, so no pics. That was the only shot I had all season at a deer.
After I missed, I should have walked over and clubbed her with my bow while she was rolling on the ground laughing at my poor shot execution. Yep, it was that bad of a miss.
My last shot was Jan 16 2010 shot over a does back

Missed the last six shots on a pheasant hunt. Before that shot a doe in early Nov. 2009. Sorry no pictures.

November 6thish, button buck at 15 yards. Through lungs and top of heart. Fell in sight. Mohawk LB, cedar arrow, Grizzly BH.

I hate to even think about it. 12Yds great razor edged horn 10 pointer, perfect setup and I hit him high. When he wheeled around exposing the exit hole I thought it was low enough to get the lung on the off side. He laid down within 60 yds I waited two hours and jumped him. Bleeding heavily on both sides waited another 2 hrs. lost the trail after 200 yds. Picked up trail next day another 100 yds. of progress than nothing. Looked all day and the next. Nothing. We think he survived but maybe just hopeful thinking. I think about it every night. Thanks Joe I'll think about it all night tonight.
Last shot was Oct. 1, opening day. Watched a doe and a small spike for nearly an hour less than 25 yards away. The shots never felt right. The doe finally worked her way up to 13 yards standing broad side and promptly turned her head straight away. I had picked the spot for over 30 minutes. I drew and the arrow buried in the ground behind her, after punching both lungs. She jumped, trotted about 20 yards, stopped, looked around and fell over. What a rush!!!!!
Missed a Sharp Tail Grouse on takeoff. Wounded an Aspen.

Javelina at about 60".

For some reason I can't copy and paste the URL with my phone.
I generally try to be 10% smarter than my equipment but I think this smart phone has me beat...
Bunny sometime last month.Missed him.Took alot of shots that day.Probably one of the funnest days in the bunny brush I've had with the boys(They had shottys, but they try to get me shots before they put the lead to em'.)
Mine was on Jan. 30. Shot at a doe about 18 yards away out of a ground blind. I hit the bottom of the window on the blind and my arrow sailed about two foot over her back.
I was hunting with a buddy near the house, here. I was hoping the does would go over by him, as he hadn't shot a deer all year. The biggest doe had seen him move, but she didn't see me. He was 25yds away. The doe was 9yds in front of me, stomping. We were running out of light, and she was getting antsy. I decided to take her, and my shot looked great. I thought I heard her crash, but I couldn't find much blood at the POI. It was gonna be in the 20's, so I left her overnight (my buddy had to drive 1.5hrs to get home...and I needed to get him on the road and back to his bride....lol).
Anyway....I walked up on her in about 5 minutes, at first light.

two days ago a crow. missed, very fast target!!! :archer:
Jan 8th 2010
Last weekend of deer season. Had a hog come in at last light. Hit him high and trailed for better than 500 yards with little blood. Lost the trail in an open pasture. Felt pretty bad about it for weeks. Saw the same hog again just yesterday. He's got a bald spot on both sides above the shoulder but is rootin just fine. I'll get him again....
My first and only trad hunting shot. Nov 2, 2009, Just 100yds from my house. Hit her high, but great blood trail. Sure would be nice to keep my current success rate. LOL (http://i1012.photobucket.com/albums/af241/krm367/trad/avatar-1.jpg)

turkey season 2009
Dec 11 and I missed a very nice 8 pt buck at 13 yards from a ground blind in a snowstorm near dark. I hit a twig in the blind with the arrow.
missed a squirrel. He matrixed me. :-)
about two weeks ago I missed a squirrel 20 yards away 20 yards up a tree. Shot was very close, about a inch low:(
last shot at an animal was a squirrel at 25 steps. I'm pretty sure he will never be back in the county cause you couldn't have fit a piece of paper between my arrow and his head :)
I think it was in late November last year, or early December. I missed a smallish pig.
Last two shots have lead to dead raccoons.
Dec 30 2009 missed a decent buck shot over him. I switched back to a recurve after shooting a longbow for several years. Unfortunately I shot high on 2 other deer throughout the season. I practiced a lot with the recurve but still shot high when the time game to close the deal.
Mine was a nice bearded turkey hen on 1/13/10.

Late December 2009....missed a doe from a ground blind. AAAAAAHHHHHH!
Thanks for reminding me :)
It hurts to much to talk about it
My last shot was the bigger one on the left yesterday afternoon. Running about 8 yards away, through the back leg. The other bunny was with a judo that went through the back and leg and up into the vitals at 15 yards in a briar den.
I was with 4 other trad friends. We took turns kicking brush piles and used a Beagle for awhile too.

Love the raccoon pic! I'm dieing to get one of them with the bow
My last shot was at a small buck that came in to about 12 yards. Thankfully, I connected and have been eating venison ever since!

Last Wednesday, 2/10/10. I was out practicing, and noticed this guy about 15 ft. up a tree sitting on a limb. There were some houses in the background, so I knew I couldn't come to full draw. I put a big bend in my bow arm, drew to anchor(about half draw), and drilled him with a field point.

here is my second to last Christmas day blizzard , 6 yards out of a DB, ny very last shot was on New Years eve clean miss at 20 yards (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4213971011_99b991ed2e.jpg)
My last shot I hit a 2" rotted tree between me and a little fork horn buck (November 2009)
My last shot occurred on the last morning of our season. (Jan.3) Good snow on the ground, six degrees above zero and a cooperative whitetail. W (http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr253/garyvater/christmas09051.jpg)hat more can a guy ask for?
The day after Thanksgiving, 2009.

Hey Gary, is that a Buck, looks like he dropped his rack?? Either way, nice deer, congrats!
Sigh, the last hunting day of the season and I sat in 16 degree weather for a bunch of hours. With a storm on the way and an flake or two showing up I finally see two deer working towards me.
I intentionally let the first pass and was locked on the second. As it got into range it was just causually walking down the trail and looked like it was going to stop of its own accord any minute. Naturally it did not and by the time I "bahhed" it was behind brush. I let it clear the brush and "bahhed" again. By this time the shot was a bit behind my left shoulder.
When I released the arrow did some kind of weird corkscrew and the bow was nearly pulled from my hand. Turns out my lower was caught on my Lone Wolf seat strap that was now slack as the seat had been folded up in preperation for the shot.
I am grateful I did not hit the deer at all but am bummed I made such a foolish mistake by not stopping the deer myself in the first place.
All hell broke loose with the weather right after that and it started snowing like mad.
Oh well, I had two in the freezer by then anyway but hate to end the season on something like that :( .

I'm gonna use that.

Thanks Joe, but it was a doe. I let Junior walk by before Mom "took one for the team". I did, however, see a small buck with them earlier that morning. A point of interest to you is that she was taken in your beloved Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. The three deer I saw that morning were my first deer sightings of the late season. Three weeks of gun hunting pressure will do that to a deer herd.
My last shot was in march last year, since then I havn't had the money to do any hunting.
From where I live to where I prefer to hunt is $100 in gas alone, and since my wife got laid off from her job, things have been very tight.
But,yes I did take that last animal clean.
I havn't worked out how to post a pic since the system changed here,,,it did change didn't it ???
Sometime the first week or so in January. One of these days I going to start writting stuff down (http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu36/L82HUNT/Photo0020.jpg)

My last shot was during the first week of Nov... missed a very nice 10 point and 19 yards :(
Mmmmissed a doe twice!!!!! November 22/10. Never got a shot at anything after that. :banghead:
My last shot was a 13 pace pass thru shot on a 125" eight pointer that went 40yrds crossed a river and dropped on the other side in view.Wished he stayed on my side had to go a$$ deep thru water on one of the coldest snowydays to retreve him then drag him out!Very happily,
lost an arm guard I had had for years.

last shot was taken on 2/12/10 killed a big doe
I recounted the saga already, but it was my first shot ever on deer, South Texas 9-10 pt OLD bruiser from a sweet natural ground blind. MISSED. 10 feet tops. I think the arrow glanced off a branch as it was dead on just behind the shoulder, but went about an inch over his back. He walked off when he heard the arrow hit the brush off to his left about 15 yds away.
I should have let him settle down and eat, and let myself settle down too. All in, an amazing 3 days surrounded by deer not 10' from me.
My last shot was 1/3/10 at a javalina. After I shot I saw a spark on the hill behind the pig. I thought I had missed. Wrong,it took three steps and rolled down the hill. Great way to start the year.
