Title: Straight from the wilds of Michigan
Post by: Mudd on February 11, 2010, 09:17:00 PM
I got an untamed MOAB straight from the wilds of Michigan today. Jim didn't tell me that the skinny harness he sent with it wouldn't keep it under control.

My 1st shot about caused me to loose my grip on it as it let out the most awful loud noise I've ever heard. It all but bellowed! I yelled at my wife to come and witness what was happening. She exclaimed that she'd never heard anything that loud before. I told her I need to get it under control so I was going to slip off the skinny at least long enough to tie it down with some rubber legs. That didn't work! I then put on some wool to sooth the beast.. to no avail. I needed to get a better handle on it so I made up a Scottish twisted braid. The beast fought long and hard but finally succumbed to my firm hand and gentle voice.
Before long he was sending arrows down to the intended target as quiet as could be.

I was and am one happy camper now! The beast is 62' and 54@28 but feels more like a 35 to 40 # in my hands. It sends it missiles down range with authority.

Thanks for reading!
God bless,Mudd

I'll get some tomorrow when the sun is shing.
BTW I slipped it back into the skinny and it acted like it had always had it on and did its work without any further noise.
God bless,Mudd

Yea, Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing better than a gentle touch to "break" one. "Feels like 35 to 40#", wow that's what I'm talkin about. Please keep me/us posted. Some of us still have the fever and have to wait a WHILE longer.

Close-ups of the bow?  Bow woods maybe?  Is it a new bow from Jim?  Does he have some inventory now?

What you mean peanut gallery? Man, I am in the front row where they don't let you throw hulls on the court. Gosh, I can't hardly wait. One thing for sure when mine arrives, the grass won't be white.
