Well after two years of trying to make a broadhead shaving sharp, I have finally prevailed! Decided to stop messin with files n stones and drop some cash on a Lansky. Took it home, watched the tutorial and 10 minutes later the Greenie took the hair off in one swipe!

Thanks again to Mr Phillips for the Greenies and Emmons for the tutorial. Gonna go see if I can get em sharper!
LOL!!!! :clapper: :clapper: good fer you buddy me i just use a steel and leather strop and file.
great job !
Ok, don't run with it. H
I use the lanskey too. Mine never shave until after I strop them with my belt, after that it is amazing. nice job
Nice! I happen to love the Accu-Sharp. I can get most any 2-blade head shaving-sharp in a minute or two.
a buffing wheel works great too!!
Gotta love the Lansky. Once I figured out that all you have to do is push the bur to the other side of the bevel I started getting razors in just minutes. Got my carving knive sharp enough to peel through some basswood the other day and it barely took longer than it did for me to type this.
You'll poke your eye out with it. :biglaugh:
Good on you! I couldn't get the Lansky to work for me to save my life. I have the deluxe set up too with all the different stones. I can get some knives sharp enough for kitchen use, but never have been able to get a broadhead shaving sharp. I've watched the tutorials and had a guy show me how it's done and I still can't do it. I'm getting a KME and giving that a try.
So you are finally old enough to shave? :D
Good job Justin. That looks good enough to kill a warthog with! ;)

I have never had any luck with the Lansky either. Don't know what I do wrong. I have better results with ceramic sticks. I have real hairy arms and every fall people ask why do you have so many bald spots on your arms after sharpening a dozen broadheads.
Cool - I just use " neat" to get the hair off my arms :biglaugh:
It's nice to get that way though. I am useless without a jig type sharpener.
I used lansky's for years and when the coarse stones finally wore out I got the KME BH and knife sharpeners...happy now too.
Jer
I use that G5 montech sharpener and it works good for knives and all my 2 or 3 blades
I wore out my course stone ressetting the bevel on heads, so i taped a file to the course stone and use that, works great on my greenies and I can be assured of getting a 25degree angle.
