My basic Silvertip, also known as the "Pagel Bow" to Mr. Golder and Mr. Maxwell. They both owned it after my temporary loss of mind a couple of years ago. It is now home, but a little lighter in weight. Dave took it down to 53# @ 28, 60 inch.

Rich, it's a custom made Thunderhorn. I had them combine their Lynx gripper and bar with a side mound quiver. They did a great job and only charged $15 extra for the custom job! They basically had to create a one of a kind bracket for it.
Allen
This is the one I currently own.

I sold the "std" limbs a while back.....but shoot the olive rosewood limbs, daily.
MJB...
I have the EXACT same bow on order. It'll be here in March. I've actually used your photo to show friends what my new bow will look like. I can't wait to get it!

You have too many Tips  :D Send the brown camoed one too me :bigsmyl:
Mike,
Funny enough, the brown camo one is the only one I would NEVER let go. That is my go to hunting rig :bigsmyl:
But never is a long time and if I did get rid of that one you wold have first dibs :jumper:
Kevin,
 Funny but it was a while back 3 yrs or so. I asked Beth about that color brown. I'm pretty sure it's on there website. You have good taste with the camo and wood combos
Thanks Mike! I really like the camo--Too bad they are out of both woodland green and brown camo now :scared:
Brown camo was the only thing I wanted on my limbs, and they're out. :(
I'd love to get ahold of some 60" FF 55-60#ers with Walnut wedges.
Mine has the green woodland and Beth told me then they only had enough for 2 more bow's. That's been over a year. Sad, I love the camo tip's! Maybe the charcoal and treebark next time!! Jason
QuoteMine has the green woodland and Beth told me then they only had enough for 2 more bow's.
When I ordered mine (had to choose woods), last year....she told me she "hoped" they had enough green to do my bow.
They did.
Looking forward to getting it in about 5 wks.
these threads are bad for the marriage and wallet.... sweeeeeet tips
kevin, what woods are on that t/d with the cool checkering on the grip? looks like some highly figured bocote. beautiful bow (they all are)
GMMAT, You'll love the camo! I know one sure thing, if I do my part the tip will do the rest! Sweetest shooting, hardest hitting bow I've ever shot!! Jason

Classy bows, gentlemen.
Limbow,
Ray told me your were as sick as I am, I guess he is right! We will have to get out to the club and watch some arrows fly.
Dave
Dave,
I would really enjoy getting together with you. I think Ray is at the beginning of the the life long sickness. He emailed me about a Hill bow he shot and loved it.
I am certain if he ever shot one of your lefty Silvertips he would understand the sickness :bigsmyl:
Hope to see you in March at the club, I will touch base with you prior to the shoot.
Kevin
Mike,
The Tip you inquired about is a solid piece of Bacote--The most wildest grain in wood I have seen!
Speaking of the green woodland camo, Beth has informed me they only have enough to do one side of my limbs--What do you guys think??
thanks kevin, what are the specs on the bocote t/d? great looking bow.
what kind of riser are you gonna do w/ the green camo? i'd probably do it on one side of the limb if it went well w/ the riser woods
These are my Tips, both 60" 52#@28" rosewood, and 59#@28" camphor burl (thanks Limbow), I love those one piece curves!

Very nice David, very nice indeed! Nothing better than a 1 piece Silvertip!
I think I will go with the limb veneers like the bow below on the belly and have the green woodland camo veneers on the back.

Beautiful bows. Kevin what woods are those and is it FF?
Not FF...avoid that stuff with my precious customs. Riser is Santos Rosewood with a Chechen wave. The limbs are curly koa. Overlays/knobs/tips are natural sheephorn.
Superb!
WOW some beautiful bows there!
If you get some time you can browse my photobucket! I either still own or owned all of these bows at some point!

Felix; you have 90 mistresses to occupy your waiting time ! Silvertips are worth waiting for!
This just in!!!!! Received my T/D Longbow last Saturday :) It is 62", 56#@28". Woodland green camo limbs coupled with stained quilted maple veneers on the back. Antler tips and front riser overlay. Checkered grip of course! I am pleased to say it is a dandy.

Great selection Kevin, man that bow looks good!
sergio, you are probably right but the wait kills you, maybe is better I grab one of the few I have and make some stump.
how do they make the camo limbs? looks awsome!!
Camo limbs are made with Camo mosquito netting.
p.s. Kevin whats an awesome looking Tip
thanks tradtusker, netting? pretty interesting. I wonder why no one else does this or is there? the more I see tip pics I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plus the history of these bows is awesome!
Has anybody received his Tip since then?
TTT
This won't help much: I'm waiting on a one piece Silvertip that's been in the works for well over a year (if I recall correctly). I believe I'll see it sometime in December if I'm lucky. I really never get in much of a hurry on receiving a custom bow. Rush jobs seldom work well for me. Anyway...this one piece bow should be something really special: a combination of traditional and exotic woods, along with some decorative touches. Still, my goal was to keep the bow quite traditional and elegant. I know the wait will be worth it!
The "ttt" of this thread interupted my patience as I await my first Tip. It is due in April. I've ordered a leftie in 58". I haven't settled on everything yet but I want it to be FF because mine will be 46# at my 26" draw length and I'd like to squeeze a bit more performance out the draw weight. This means there will be Dymonwood in the riser. I'll have an exotic riser flare and the limb veneers will be exotics. I'll have antler limb details, antler burr bolt knobs, checkered grip, and most likely the bow will be drilled for a new plunger-style springy elevated rest by Strickland's Archery. The bow may be cut 1/4" past center instead of the standard 3/16" to accomodate this arrow rest. I might have some type of antler plug, scrimshaw disc, etc. made to cover the cushion plunger hole in case I decide to shoot off the sheft or a bear weather rest.
I'm having an awful time settling on the wood combos! That Denton bow above is very striking with the contrasting riser woods!
I've been really studying the bows with bocote and cocobolo flares. At one time I thought I had settled on the Charcoal and Cocobolo riser..but....?
I came really close to buying a used LH Tip from one of the fine fellows on this site. One was just a hair heavier than I wanted and the other was 2" longer. It would have made the wait easier if I had bought one of these in the interim though! I keep my eye on the classifieds just in case the perfect "interim" bow does pop up though.
Tic Tac,I am not in the hurry to receive mine too.It will mean I am one year older.
Mike,it looks pretty similar to one I have on order, same window too.
Well mine will be a charcoal riser, grey stained quilt maple veneers, sheep horn tips, sheep horn riser overlay, checkered grip.58"-55#-29"DL.
I sure do like the looks of those one piece Silvertips.

Yeah Felix, that macasser Tip with the amarillo stripe was nice, wish I could get it back. Should have never let it go. Do not remember why I sold it cause it was a real good shooter.

Thank you!!
Stunningly beautiful bows. I'm feeling the itch to get back in line.
Come on Kyle, do it:) My order is already in:)
That is some beautiful horn overlay work. I haven't ordered a custom bow since 85 :) but if I did a silvertip would be the one.

Jeez Felix, there wont be any left when I get their next June!
Keith,I'll save all the big ones for you. You'll enjoy your vacation here, I promise you.
Great looking bows Felix. What kind of quiver is on the strung bow?
Thanks
Kyle
Well I went back and looked at every pic again, I can't believe
After all these years I haven't owned a Tip. I guess I'm still
Trying to convince myself to spend that much for a bow. I mean are they really worth $2000, I'm asking, I don't know.
Priced one out with FF option, couple of exotic woods, flair in riser and it adds up quick. I did shoot one for a short time, it
Shot very nice and felt great in my hand. Still kicking it around,
Lots of money.
Felix, you and I both know the bow is not the Killer, it's the guy pulling the string. You could have done the same with
Any of your bows, great shooting.
Joe VT, love that riser wood, is it Cocobolo. Also where did
You get those Antler limb bolts with the Bear Claw, sweet.

It is an EFA,sponsor here.
RW,you are right, they are expensive but my isn't a passion it is an obsession, plus as a job I am a collector.
I have more than 100 bows and when I shoot good I do it with all the bows of mine,on bad days I can't hit the side of a barn with any of them. BUT,Silvertips are very good and dependable bows, easy to tune, good hunting companions.
There are many others that I like:Zipper,Blacktail, old Bear TD,Stalker,Dale Dye you name them but the Schafer has always his place to the sun.
My newest. 56", 57#@28", macasser riser with koa flare, koa limbs, sheep horn tips and up the riser.

I like my limb bolts seperate so they dont scratch anything during transports. Are all your Tips like that?
Yes, all are like that and I have never had any thing scratched in transport, of course my case is one of the originals that Paul's wife made and has a cutout in foam where the riser and the limbs set, nothing can scratch it.
Another nice addition to your collection, Keith!

Rosewood dymondwood riser with zebrawood veneers. Cant see it, but you get the picture.
Tom is now 6'1 and 210#.
Felix, You seriously have 100 tips? Cripes!
No Steve, just 11 :goldtooth: but I have a total of 100 Bows.
Don't know how to post pics but I have two tips, both same except for one is 60@28 and one is 55@28.
They are shooters as everyone has said. Honestly not shot many different bows so I am not good at comparisons. Just know you can go wrong with ordering a silvertip and Dave and Beth are great folks to deal with.
J-Dog you don't need to look for other bow!

I picked up a rosewood tip from another TG'r last summer that is an amazing shooter. The grip has got to be one of the best out there for me. I'll see if I can't find a photo or 2.
Felix-WOW!!!! :archer2:
Denny
Those are all beautiful. It has me thinking about my next one. I think it will be a one piece.
I just bought my 3rd set of limbs for my Schafer! 54@28, 57@27 and 76@29!! Been shooting the 76@29 the last couple days and starting to warm up to them nicely.
Felix,
The limb tips on yours with the combination of the smooth sheep horn and gaboon ebony is fantastic.
Nice surprise on the limb tips Felix.
Danny, dont forget about the Macasser Bocote Silvertip I just got a few weeks ago:^)
Jaw dropping boys.
Spectacular stuff.

Thanks Danny they are too beautiful to loose them my friend
I think I have them fixed Felix.
Felix, that Rocket is awesome !!
Thanks Michael
Felix,
What wood was used in the pair of risers besides the black and white ebony? Thank you.
Grouse
Grouse, in what a page?
TTT for the ones who have requested.
Grouse, I believe the two bows you are referring to are BW ebony and either Gabon or Macasser ebony in the riser for Felix's bows.
