Well today I woke up with an idea for a St.Jude item for auction.I want to get a notebook and pass it around to whoever wants to add to it.I'm thinking one page per person with a short tale of a most memorable hunting trip and then sign and date that page.It must be kept to one page per person.And when it's done we can auction it off"Tales of the Trad Gangers".It's just an Idea I'm sure the mods would have to ok the title.But who would be in to participating?

Awesome idea. also adding a pic too. Why not make it a binder with those clear plastic pouches and everyone can make their own page and send it to you? Let us know.

I'm up for the binder idea I have a guy who does leather and I can have him cover one.Just need everyone to get in on it and get the ok for the title since it has Trad Gangers,And don't want to overstep myself.

Sounds like a great idea. I really like the idea of the contributors writing their story out by hand and finishing it with a signature. That makes it much more personal and I think it would be more valuable as well. Pictures would be a great bonus.

Would 1 page be enough? One good huntin story could fill up a dozen pages.

We should limit it to two pages anything else would I would have to make multiple volumes.

I like the idea, but I would recommend make a template to follow. If no template, you won't have everyone giving out same info and leaving a lot of unanswered questions

animal taken (specifics if any) e.g. Whitetail buck, blacktail doe, etc. etc.
date and location:
weight if known
Type bow (specifics of bow and AMO, weight and draw
Type arrow
Type broadhead
distance of shot
method taking animal: stalk, climber, ground blind etc.
distance to recovery

brief summary that led up to kill,during kill and after kill.

Whats the hold up? I read stories on other threads that ask a simple question like what blind do you use and you guys reply with all the specifics of the blind and the hunt.Now is your chance to tell a story and it doesn't have to be a big game or successful kill.Just tell an adventure you had with your bow. :campfire: :pray:

Guys I have seen smoker mags with more stories in them than what I'm getting for this journal of tales.If Hill and Bear never had a tale documented,they would not be the legends they are.Do you strive to be a legend one day than throw your tale in the journal it's not that hard.Do it for the kids.Draft it out on the jon instead of reading someone else's story.

Every day I read a new thread about a hunting trip.How about you guys use the template( the bold blue Trad Gang Tales) on page 1 and tell it on paper for St.Jude.The more Tales we get the more $$ money $$ for the kids.Its very easy just click it and type it in and hit send!

Im no lawyer and not sure about copyright infringement.Most guys just typed a few paragraph's about a hunting trip successful or not and I print it out. Then I copy a header in a fancy type A Tale of A Trad Gang Bowhunter and then place them in plastic page keepers.And I have a binder being covered in leather and on the front it will be lettered TALES it will be a dark wine color.I would tell of a hunting trip that was memorable in any way it doesn't have to be long just a few paragraph's.

What if you edited the title every few days, to catch people's eyes? I think Bob W does that with his St. Jude's fundraiser thread. Perhaps "We Need Your Hunting Story to Help Sick Kids Get Well!" or "Please Donate a Short Story for St. Jude's!" or "St. Jude's Needs Your Story!" etcetera.

at the edge of a private hunting reserve two people are eating at a local restaurant, one is the Hunting Ranger the other the owner.
A guy shouting breathlessly ... help .... help ... I killed two animal with my bow.... the present will look and say ... well dude, well .. are you not happy ?? and the guy .... No I am not happy because I thought were two wild boars and instead are two pigs..... At this time the owner of the restaurant .... You are a Study guy... you killed my pigs ..... and they are PINK not dark..

Last NOv. I posted one that folks seemed to like. It was just an ordinary day in the PA woods. I pulled it back up and pasted into Word and then dumped it back into the format submission link on Page 1. Simple. :)
