I have been thinking about getting a short recurve(54" or 56"), so if you have a pic of yours I would like to see them. Thanks
don't have any photos but i had a shakespeare super necedah and the bow was great.i also had a red wing hunter but it kinda pinched a bit.k-mags are good also.
Here's some pictures of my Whisperstik Kajika recurve. It's 56" and smooth all the way to 30". There are pictures of the whole bow strung up on page 3.

bear k-mags are hard to beat! they've been around for along time and you can get them for a good price used. i love mine and i'm looking for another:)
one more vote for the K- mag!
Just ordered an Addiction Recurve, 54", from John Dill-Kanati Quivers Anneewakee Archery.
Thanks
The Addiction Recurves from John are super nice bows. I have had a chance to shoot alot of them.
I vote for the Kmag too. If I didn't have so much fun shooting it, I would probably sell it......then again probably not.

Check this thread out if you want a great short recurve. Don
I draw 30" and last month I drove down to JD's place to pic up my Kajika Stik. I shot a 52" prototype Mojo Stik. I'll tell you how it shot with my 30" draw. I gave JD a deposit on the spot, picked out the limb lam's and a block of wood the the riser. Myrtlewood limbs, Spalted Maple riser, 50@30. In the Turkey blind we will go :)
I'll let you know how it shoots when I get it. If it's anything like the one I shot in JD's shop, WOW.
Don't forget to check out Cascade Archery, they are a sponsor on here.
Top notch bows and you couldn't find a better person to deal with than Steve Gorr.
here's some of my shorties. a 48" BP Ambusher, Browning Nomad Stalker I(52"), BP Mach 1 (52"), 52" BP Hawk, 52" AA

Check out the Cascade bows. They really are super nice shooters! I also like the Black Widow PSR's. The Widow is my favorite bow.
those are some nice bows trapper dave! thats the first BP ambusher ive ever seen.
How well a short bow will work for you depends a LOT on your draw length. I have an old 52" Red Wing that is great at 28" but miserable to shoot at my 29" draw.
My draw length is 28". I shot a k-mag the other day and it didnt pinch or stack.
just got this one today. RER Arroyo 54in. 57@26 osage (http://i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss13/dvshunter/CIMG0176.jpg)
Another vote for the Rivers Edge Arroyo. Awesome bows.
I have shot several different custom recurve and long bows, the Saluki Ibex is the smoothist I have ever shot. Mine is 58". No finger pinch at 29 1/2".
My short bow list includes a 56" Widow PSAX, 54" Morrison Cheyenne Longbow, and a 52" Morrison ILF recurve. All of these bows are amazing shooters.
Claudia
Don't forget the 54" Wing Thunderbird, and my favorite 54" Howatt Hi-Speed.
Thanks... looks like Im going to try to get my hands on an Anneewakee Addiction.
Anyone have a short "KIKO" bow ???
I have had a K-mag for many years and also had a Super mag until recently. About a year and half ago I bought a new Cascade Golden Hawk Mag, 52", 48 @ 27". It is without a dought the best short bow I have owned. No finger pinch !! Also quiter than the K-mag and Super Mag. Jim
The 52" Cascade is a great short bow. Love mine. Look at the Nighthawk option.
Morg your a a traitor! LOL just messin with ya. Check out little suckling recurves I know they make some super short recurves. Give me a hollar we have some yote huntin to do. Them some thunder chickens to whack.
I just recently bought a Browning Nomad Stalker 52". Shot it a dozen times and like it better than my Martin Hunter 62".
I really love my BOB LEE HUNTER. It is a take down recurve with the short riser and 54 inch limbs. Overall, 56" AMO. Quiet, durable, and consistent. It outshoots me too. Sorry, no pics, but after being so happy with mine, I thought you should know.
Black Mountain Sheepeater Spirit - awesome 'curve
anyone got a little suckling recurve?
i'm interested in some info about the KT-44. yes, that means 44"!
I havent jumped into this picture hosting thing yet,But I picked up a scratched up old Bear super kodiak magnum 48" 60# for 69dollars a couple years ago-Almost dislocated my shoulder getting my wallet out of my pocket. The guy said it would be worth more if it wasnt scrached up,But it just made crawling through the brush with it easier. :jumper:
Not too many around, but the newer Bear T/D can be had in a relatively short bow. I've been impressed with the stability and shootability of the 56-inch, A- riser bow I picked up recently. Not the fastest bow around, but fast enough to get the job done.
I just got a 56" Kajika Stik that is surprising me at my touch over 30" draw!
I am shooting a pair of Morrison 54" Cheyenne recurves with carbon/foam limbs. The setups are super fast, super quiet, and easy to shoot accuracy wise my favorite setups I have ever owned.
I have a K-Mag, and this 54" Drake;

I have a 50#-52" REd Wing Hunter which is my go to hunting bow. It shoots and draws like a much longer bow, in fact, I can't tell the difference from my 58 or 60 inch Red wing hunters. Those short limbs are fast and I think the 52 inch shoots flatter and faster than the longer bows. Perfect for getting thru brush and up in stands, etc. If I can find a pic I'll post it.

If ya want a good short bow don't forget Rodney Wright's 46" Stalker. It's a great little bow, as long as your draw length isn't over 28".
I have several reviews on short recurves on my site, www.peteward.com (http://www.peteward.com)
Rodney Wrights 46" stalker,
Dan Toelke 52" RC
Black Mountain 50" Sheepeater
Kack Kempf 56" kwyk Styk
There are a few short longbow reviews there too.
Talk to the bowyer and make sure his short bow is good for your draw length.
Pete
We have the 48" take down and i am starting to draw plans up for a 47" recurve that draws to 28/29" based on the kids bow i built for joekeith's granddaughter.
LOVE short bows! never thought i would say that, but the things are just plain addictive.
Dave
Really got to put some arrows thru the 56" Kajika I just got. It's a keeper!
