ok lets see your caribow pics.i really am in love with these tuktu one piece recurves but would like to see all types of wood combos.i am more accurate with this bow than i have ever been with any bow period.this indeed may be my holy grail.to bad the waiting list is six months.let the pics fly.
c'mon man i need pics
I have been hunting exclusively with my two caribow longbows for several years.
I'll try to get some pictures but in the meantime:
one has bamboo limbs with a becote riser and the other has bamboo limbs covered with curly maple veneer and a coco bola riser.
Larry,
I have had several of Abe's bows from the Featherhorn longbow to the Silver Fox longbow and the Taiga recurve. All are great bows and I do not think you could go wrong with any of his bows.
Cannot do pics from work but will post some later of the ones I have had that I kept pics of.
Danny
Hey Larry, wish I owned one to show you ... someday. Abe just updated his inventory page on his website, cari-bow.com plus he has great shots on his model pages. Check them out if you haven't already. It's going to be hard to pick one. Enjoy.
Larry, have you checked out Ryan's (Manitoba Stickflingers) bear hunt on powWow, on it he uses Caribow Wolverine longbow. The thread is called "My spring bear hunt video", I think its on page 2 right now. Thought it might tide you over until some pics are posted.
You may have seen these posted before, but here are mine.

this is the one i bought off rn here a while back, sent pics to abe and he informed me its cocobolo, wenge handle and red elm limbs....i will be getting one made with the same wood combo in handle but with boo core and maybe tulip wood limb lams...should be a stunner.
i just cannot say enough good things about this tuktu.went shooting at the bowshop today and man o'man was it fun.i have been looking for my holy grail and i think i may have found it in this one piece tuktu.cannot imagine anything being smoother to be honest.and they are very fast to boot.
Nice looking bows! You mentioned Tulipwood and it got me to thinking about the Peregrine I used to own, not sure who has it nowadays (pictured below).
I've only had (2) one-piece hybrids that were nearly as good as the "holy grail" that I finally stumbled upon. Abe's Peregrine and Snowbird... super performing, dead-in-hand bows no doubt.

Larry love to show you my new Wolverine but I can't,it's not made yet.lol Still in the planning stages but when I do approach Abe I have no worries that the craftsman will come thru with a 'true' work of art.

Abe does an outstanding job. You won't be sorry with any of his bows. I have a snowbird one piece and a silveer fox 3 piece. Both are very nice and shoot great.
Cari-Bow still operational?
Just ordered a used "Featherhorn" l/bow.
Web-site, not fully functional.
Those are some of the sweetest bows I've seen. Larry yours should be a stunner for sure!

Some real works of art. WOW
Definitely some mighty fine lookin bows
So papabear, look like it's been almost a year now, where is your bow??
Those are just the old standard bamboo limbs. This is a very simple bow compared to many that he makes.

Bamboo core under clear glass? Or bamboo veneers? Are the vertical lamination lines visible under the glass? Please post a closer pic.
Incredible bows!
Great looking bows !! Ive been hunting with Abe's bows for 20 years.
You should have seen the static limbed Taiga recurves he had at K'zoo.
Got me thinkin'
My first "real" bow was a Tuktu in 1999. Incredible piece of really dark Cocobolo riser with red elm limbs. I was a righty then so sold it when I went lefty. Just got an e-mail back from Abe about my request for a 58" static tip Tuktu. One piece bows only for me from now on and my memories of that first Tuktu are all good.
These are beautiful! I shot some Cari-bows at Kalamazoo and they were fantastic shooters. Left me with a very good impression.
Guys
I had the opportunity to test drive Abe's new static this past summer at our local 3D shoot.
I happen to be shooting my Morrison ILF with a set of Dryad Static that day so a side by side comparison was in order.
To be honest, while nothing scientific, I must admit Abes bow seemed a little bit quicker, quieter and a tad nicer to shoot, especially when you stretched out the draw length.
Looks like he came up with a real winner as I'm sure time will tell.
Mo
Abe is stopping by my shop tomorrow to look at his elk mount. He is also dropping me off some goodies. The new static, and recuve limbs for my silver fox. Yes, I said recuve limbs for the silver fox.... :) I get to test drive them first !!! lucky me !. Abe has built me many beautiful bows over the years.

My Peregrine
Looks great! What are the woods on this one?
TTT, for soembeauties!! Anymore to show off?? Shawn
Any pics with that new Static option ?
Guys, I have a real beauty to show off.
But not quite yet.
Still have one more thing to be added to it.
Hopefully it will be completed soon....
Mo
Here are my two Peregrines:
The one above has Crema Etimoe limbs and a Birdseye Maple/Pau Ferro riser.
The other one has Waterfall Bubinga limbs and Bubinga/Ebony riser.
Both have antler tips, antler riser overlay and ofcourse Abe's famous bevertail grip.
Drawweight is 45 and 51 lbs at my drawlenght of 29 inches.
Enjoy!

The 45# bow is birdseye maple riser? Are there any weight difference between the 2 risers? What would be the heaviest wood available for riser?
Danny,
I think your bow is the most beautiful Cari-bow I have ever seen!
Danny, I just shot that bow last night. Sweet as always.

No, the 45# bow is the Bubinga/Ebony riser. Both bows don't differ much in mass, only 35 grams in favor of the 51# bow. I think Wenge is the most heavy wood but I am not sure. But I think the benefit is neglictable.

Darned! Lucky you... now let me get this right.. are you getting static recurve limbs for your Silver-Fox????? Or are you getting "just" a one pce static (Tuktu EX) and working recurve limbs for your Silver Fox?
