Just picked up a charcoal stained, diamond wood bow with black glass limbs. Thinking I will match it up with some charcoal stained POC, black and white barred feathers with a fine silver cresting, and maybe a black leather quiver to go with the whole motif.
Let me see some pics of the black/gray combos you may have. (No leather pants please. ;-)
Sounds cool! Can't wait to see some pics.
Oh how I can't wait to call myself a Adirondack 46er! My hubby is going for the Colorado 54 14ers. You are in Tn, how many trips did it take you to get all 46?
Katie, Took me about 10 years. It was very leisurely - 2 or 3 trips a year. We climbed many of the peaks 2 or 3 times. It was never our intention to become 46ers until we realized we were over half way there. Then we started planning trips to some of the more obscure peaks. Now I'm in East TN working my way through the 800 miles in the smokies. Gotta love the mountains.
Ahhhhhhhh, the smokies. Can't think of a more beuautiful place. Breath taking everytime I go there. Done some camping in Gatlinburg(sp).

grey bows are my favorite!!
Gaff, Nice RER! I think that would look great with some cottonmouth skins on the limbs. Anybody got a charcoal grey bow with cottonmouth skins? Now that would be cool. Let's see the pic.
Leatherneck, The nice thing about the smokies is that when there's no seasons open to chase critters with the bow, I can grab the flyrod and head up into the mountains and chase native brookies and rainbows. And then there are the tailwaters - Clinch, Hiwasee, South Holston. Big trout water they are!

WOW,I see some good looking bows.I always wanted a bow that dark.
Those are some sexy looking bows, I have always liked the darker bows myself, only have one that is close(Martin hunter). And that is really a bluish tint instead!
jacob, what is that bow? Very nice.
... and how 'bout those charcoal stained arrows like JFLNT makes?
I snitched this off Duane & Kim's website (Thunderhorn).... hope they don't mind. :D

Steven those limbs are exactly what I've been imagining my next long bow would look like. Is that quilted maple stained? Sure is a real beauty!
sorry for the delay guys...my bow is a firefly by jim jones....its his low wrist version (route 66 model)..... Im not imagining this...but its the best shooting bow ive shot to date...... super smooth, quiet, and quick...
the riser is charcoal dymond wood (lots of mass) with a maple stripe...the limbs are quilted maple stained grey...i told jim to make them look like the bark on a michigan hardwood tree....Jim did a great job..it took him a little trial and error to get the right color match under the glass..but he got her just right...I like this bow so much, im going to order another this year!
Nice bows guys. I recall seeing somewhere a combo of burnt orange dymond wood and charcoal. I think it was a quik stik I saw. Haven't been able to find it.
That quilted maple gray stained looks GREAT!!! Almost like a snakeskin. Very nice bow indeed!!!
That's beautiful Bill. Here's my TallTines. I also have a new Crow Creek coming next week or so with some Gray/Black Actionwood accents. I'll post when she arrives.

Tom..love that tall tines...what woods are the lams...and are they stained.
Thanks Steven, they are Bocote. I asked the bowyer for some really figured stuff and he delivered. Not sure if he stained them or not. There is just a lot of grain in it.

very nice combo....
I have always wanted a Charcoal Dymondwood riser with Diamondback or Canebrake skined limbs on it.
My favorite snake skins with Charcoal Dymondwood is Emory Rat. The skins show up grey and black on black glass. Wish I had a pair  .

Bob , They are Emery Rat skins in the picture. I pick the skins from Mike Yancy but he hasn't had any in a while. I would like to have another set but can't find any.
Bill
OK, you can all stop now. I kinda wish I hadn't started this thread. I'm coveting all y'all's bows big time.
