no wonder he has his tail tucked. That's just embarassing! LOL
-
He looks thick to have one so small, huh?
-
kennym I should be able to judge it well thats about all I see when I see a buck.Kip
-
Wow thats pretty wild, especially with such a thick body like Kenny said. Suppose we can laugh all we want but I wouldn't doubt that rack has saved his butt a few times. hmmmmmmm Natural Selection maybe?
Kenny, what kind of camera do you have?
-
That rack would be scored as a little bitty one but he is a fat rascal.
-
16.50" - 1.75 = 15.25.... Hey he's a shooter.
-
I guessed him at about 20.5" gross but don't know how many diameters a heavily palmated forkhorn would get?? :p
Eddie, its a Moultrie 2.1,not bad for the money.......
-
Maybe someone with more knowledge about antlers could start a thread about their growth. Will this buck ever get to be an 8-pointer? Or will he always be a fork, same with spikes? I know genetics and diet have a lot to do with it. If you gave this buck more calcium carbonate or supplemented his diet with a good food plot would he have any more antler growth?
-
Don't know if calcium would help, but he had all the beans, clover and milo he could stand, unless he just moved in for the winter. He would surely develop into a better buck antlerwise in a couple years, guess I've never seen a 250# spike or forkie. That said, yesterday I saw a 3x3 that I guessed to be 18-19" inside and big bodied.....
-
I sometimes find it difficult to judge another man's rack...however that can occasionally be alleviated with copious amounts of the intoxicating beverage of one's choice and/or a large mallet...
Of course your mileage may differ...
-
That would be a solid A cup rack.....
-
Thick winter coat...hair slightly raised..... Thin neck.......and concave neck/brisket junction.
Just a nice year and a half old deer!
J-longbow,That once a spike, always a spike way of thinking went out the door years ago. This buck should mature into a fine buck someday if given the chance.

I though this was too good to be true !

Looks like he would be good with mashed potatoes. Chort
-
I'd score him at about 50-55lbs of mighty tender and tasty de-boned meat :readit: :D
-
Maybe the camera angle makes his butt look big.
Troy,do ya really think he'll go 25"? :scared: :)
-
Ha :D he is at least a 5 pointer if you count that brow tine stick up by his ear. Is this the first time you have seen him. I would see what he has to offer next year. If not much difference he would be the first one to get my tag. Just so I don’t get a bunch like him.
However if next year he shows improvement see were he goes. Ooh yes the score does teeny tiny count.
-
I don't know he looks prettu symetrical. He might score well into the 20's.
-
Ah dang, its about deer.
-
125 Lbs of good eatin venison !!
-
where else but here can a bunch of guys check out another guys rack? and not be embarrassed for it or him.
-
On a scale of 1-10 I'll give him a 5!!!!!
I ain't picky,but he's a shooter in my book
-
He would eat good. And the antlers would make a nice bow rack. He's all of 20"
-
That's a Pokem Young buck for sure!!
-
I think he really scores about mid 120's, he is just a big bodied Canadian buck that makes his rack look small.......
-
Looks like a girl...
I have a Miniature Fainting Goat with more bone on it's head!...
-
His body is very healthy and he may just be younger than you think. Give him a year and see how his rack "develops"
-
Didn't plan on shootin him guys, somethin about him made me laugh. Have seen dozens like im this season, and a few bigger ones too. Still carryin tags tho. ;)
-
Good Luck Bud!!
-
Are we SURE it's a him and not a her? I have seen pic's of does with little racks like that, although they usually only have one side.
Nice full body like that and such a little rack, just wait until he hits puberty :bigsmyl:
