Post by: customcrester on February 07, 2010, 09:11:00 PM
I'm looking to shoot beman Ics bowhunter shafts with 100 gr brass inserts and 250 gr points.I'm shooting a longbow #50 @ 27" and looking to shoot a 29" arrow. The longbow also has a fastflight string. What spine shafts should i try and what dia. brass inserts do they take.

thanks in advance for advice.

I'd start with 400 and work down... with that much weight up front, 340 may work... but I am willing to bet 400 will be the way to go.  You may have to add or cut length to the arrow, so have 3 as a test set and go from there.

Good luck and don't get too crazy about it... I drove myself nuts trying to match arrows up.  After picking up a new BW PSR III, 57 lbs with Dynaflight string, it shot a FMJ Dangerous Game 300, cut to 30.5" with 300 grs up front like a dart... go figure.   :knothead:
