Got a few questions about ilf limbs and risers. I know most limbs are labled short, med and long. If one were to put say short limbs at 45lb for a 17" riser, on a longer riser, would the weight increase of decrease? If there is a chart somewhere, please direct me to it. Thanks Don
weights go up and down by about 1# for inch of riser. So 45 on 17 is 43 on 19 etc.

I think you'd benefit from reading Pete Wards reviews. Same limbs on a shorter riser make the limbs heavier. and...visa versa.
Batman, see Belcher's website. It might be there.
From Sky Brochure:
Calculating I.L.F. bow length
*Riser Bolt Pattern + Limb = Bow Length
*Bolt Pattern is the length between limb bolts.
*The Bolt Pattern is 5" Shorter than Riser.
*15" Riser = 10" Bolt Pattern
*17" Riser = 12" Bolt Pattern
The Limb Lengths: Short - 23"
Medium - 24"
Long - 25"
EXAMPLE
15"Riser + Long limbs = 60" Bow
10" Bolt Pattern + (2 X 25" Limbs) = 60" Bow
Mike, and everyone, thanks I think? do all ilf risers have the same limb pocket angle? would this affect weight as well? I'm just a house carpenter. a 6-12 is a 6-12 pitch no matter how wide the house is. thanks DB
Don, from the little I know about them I can tell you that some manufacturers list the weight with the limb bolts maxed out, while others list theirs at the mid point of the limb bolts......at least that's what I was told.
It's pretty addictive once you get and ILF bow isn't it?? LOL
So many possibilities.
Sorry Don, your question was weight change and my answer was length change. But hey, thanks for your help with the Addiction Recurve
Nope not all limb angles are the same. In fact, other then the Fita risers in 23 and 25" most of them are different.
The good news is that a lot of folks are shooting these setups now days. So there is a lot of info available.
Mike
Glad that you brought that up Don. I recently got a Pinnacle II riser and wanted to play with different limbs. I was curious also how the different lengths would affect weight.
