Can anyong give me some input about the speed of the older Robertson longbows. I am interested in getting a Mystical or Purist around 55# and would like to know how they compare to others (Great Northern, Thunderstick, Kohannah). Thanks
I have a Mystical that's about 61@28 and I think it's pretty fast. It might not be as fast as some of the newer hybrids, but it won't be too far behind and it's probably more quiet.
Warchild, my experience with the Robertson Purists is that they are one of the quicker mild r/d longbows out there. Other than the old Bighorn Ramhunters, it is my favorite longbow. They are very comfortable in the hand and classical lookers besides. I'd go for it.

ok i am typing on a phone, it will be short.
i have 2 Robertsons.
Mystykal...67@28 shoots just shy of 190fps. I don't remember exact arrow weight since it has been several years since i set it up, but i like really heavy stuff.
Primal Styk...53@28.. 638gr arrow that I have not chrono'd but it is just as fast as as my Mystykal. The Primal Styk is much more agressive reflex/deflex bow which helps with speed and smoothness.
IMHO you CAN NOT beat a Robertson.
For a side note, I bought the Primal Styk from Shick.
Yup, there plenty quick. You can load it up with a heavy hickory arrow and it dont seem to bother it. I have an old Elm Mystical and a Vision LB that is a couple years old, both around #62 at 30". Very strong bows!

I have a flatbow (Buffalo bow from 20 yrs ago) 67# @ 28" and although I've never chronograph it I can tell you it's no slouch with 630-670gr arrows.
I get a Purist 67#@28",not sure how fast it is but I don't have to change point of view from the one I use with my 65#recurves.
Thanks guys!
I have a 5 year old Robertson, 63# @ 29
Shoots a 630 grain 20/20 178 FPS
