Title: Twist per 1"
Post by: 2elkhunt on February 06, 2010, 01:06:00 PM
Is there a standard twist per inch when making a flemish twist string. Is a higher #of twist louder or quieter or louder? Any other advantages or disadvantages.

Thanks

I like initially, about 25 complete twist in the string, when I'm finished building loops. and before stretching.

When looking at a 2 color string, 2-ply.say brown and yellow, I like no more than one of each, in an inch.

Yes, in my opinion, you can have too much twist!
It takes away from the integrity of the material, spring affect.

Yes, it can be shootable, but your going to have alot of stretch and vibration.

I like 2-4 and have never found a difference in noise level. Too many is likely not a good thing.
