I have only done it on AD's, and the "missalignment" wasn't enough to matter. It was barely noticable.

I use wraps on all my carbons and even on my AD Trads and Trad Lites. With the tapered carbon I used a 7" x 1",it was enough to overlap and being 1" wide and 7" long the cresting bands on the wraps were only slightly off.with the tapered carbon the longer the wrap the alignment shows up more because you are going further up the taper. They looked worst when I used 1.25" wide wraps, too much overlap.Another way is to use solid color wraps and hand crest them,I have done this also.Whispering Winds cresting enamel worked pretty good. This is what my experience with putting wraps on tapered carbons.
